I'm thinking about buying PS4. I have own zero current gen nor last gen consoles and am looking to get back into gaming for some fun on the side.
Should I go for xbox or PS4? The wiiu isn't really up my alley.
Which one has the most games you're interested in that are currently out or coming out? Really that should be the first and most important factor to any console purchase.

If you got some close friends/family/roommates, I would suggest the Wii U over the others for games like Smash, Mario Kart, Splatoon, etc, but of the two you're interested in, I'm more bias towards the PS4 for a few games out and a lot of upcoming titles.
Games like Horizon: Zero Dawn are looking pretty great and those types of games are up my ally.
PS4, just go for it.

XB1 is just a less powerful PS4 for retards that has less games and a worse UI
I was going to split one with my GF for Xmass, but I just can't get past it's complete lack of decent games after being out this long.

I do have some friends to play with but they didnt talk favourably about nintendo games before and like me drink alot and play shooters. Just looking to play something different than the same games again but we'll see what happens.

Yeah, asides from an Xbone, I have every current gen platform and a decent toaster, it's costly, but I also don't play every game as they come out. Choosing one and going with it all comes down to what you like, what you'll enjoy playing, and if you'll have others to play along with (i.e. friends with PS4/Xbone systems to multiplayer online or locals to couch play on Wii U).

worth noting that if you get a wii u before new years and don't update it, you'll have wii u cfw within the next month or so. there was some huge news a few hours ago in hbg, the wii u and 3ds kernel crypto keys were discovered, plus 5.5 already had an iosu exploit in the works even before that.
