Probably. They're not much different, but 4 improves and speeds up some gameplay elements, so 3 might feel like more of a drag if you play it second.

Objectively better with more content, some re-balances, and more shit to do. Only downsides are Chie's new VA, which is subjective, and Marie, who you can mostly ignore. Play it instead of vanilla if you have a Vita or psTV.

I played P4G first and then tried P3P until my save corrupted like 20 hours in and then I played P3FES to completion.
This anon is right. P3FES in particular, felt a bit lacking in Polish compared to P4G. Not a very fair comparison due to release dates and all. But both games are amazing so you can't go wrong.

Given that P5 is coming out in a few months I'd actually just skip 3. If you play 3 you'll be burnt out trust me. You won't get around to plain 4 until P5 is nearly out so yeah, just play 4.

I played P4 first and I liked it a lot more. But 3 is still great though. I guess I just liked the lighthearted story more.

They're both so similar that the second one just won't be able to compare to your first experience. They both have their merits, the only thing I would say one does objectively better than the other is P3's writing, while it does fall short from time to time, most notably around the time Aigis is introduced, it's more consistently good and doesn't have anything as egregious as the plotholes in 4 or the idiocy of the IT.
Those problems don't really get to most people who like 4 though, it is the 'fun' Persona instalment after all, basing itself off of DiU, and I think it did a good job of being fun, even if it was clearly rushed.

Gameplay-wise, I feel that 4 is slightly better - more varied soundtrack, more varied dungeons than fucking Tartarus, more developed s.links.
In the end, it all comes to which story and atmosphere you like more. I like P4 a bit more due to reasons I've mentioned, but P3FES is as good.
