I wouldn't say it's the best but it's certainly my favourite.
The inFamous games are also really good. Although I played Second Son with the voices muted and skipped as many cutscenes as possible. The gameplay was fucking phenomenal but holy fuck it had the worst characters, story and dialogue. I can't believe one of the side missions was literally DESTROY THE DRUGS, STOP THE DRUG DEALERS. Also all the shitty banksy-esque bullshit, they were trying way too hard to appeal to the 'youths' with that shit.

Spiderman Web of Shadows is my all time favourite Spidey game. Playing as Symbiote Spidey for the whole game was wicked fun. I loved that the swing animations changed depending on what suit you wore.

I really enjoyed the Web Strike mechanic, even though it gets old towards the end of the game. After getting the timing right, it becomes a breeze, I loved the crazy combos you could pull off.
What console did you play it on? I remember playing it on 360 and it was fine, but then I played it on ps3 and the framerate was awful and it crashed a lot.

I'll never understand it.
I try it again every once in a while wanting to like it but it's just so boring.
The city doesn't compensate for the extremely intense maneuverability of the character by adding obstacles, so any semblance of level design goes out the window.
You're never in danger of dying so there's no tension in the moment to moment gameplay.
The first time you use any given power its obviously cool, but with no tough enemies to use them on you just destroy everything in a few seconds, so they quickly lose their appeal.
The story directly conflicts with the gameplay, given Mercer's intentions. He himself as a character is lame. Not even like Dante, in a 'tries way too hard to be cool, bit its so over the top and nonsensical he ends up being cool in a funny way'. Just 'tries to hard to be cool and angsty and falls straight on his face'
The boss fights, ESPECIALLY THE FUCKING """" FINAL BOSS"""" are a huge disappointment
I want to like it so bad but I can't.
Maybe if you're super into power fantasy gameplay and only intend to play it in one hour intervals it gets stale less quickly.
As an overall game I really think InFamous won when these two came out.
Whole thing just feels like a weird 07 tech demo
This will always be my favourite.

What I loved about Prototype was the city population decaying over time as things got more and more fucked up. It's like a mix of I Am Legend and The Thing. Great combo.

The problem is that Infamous and Prototype are so different. Infamous has a more focused power set meant for sniping people on rooftops. Prototype is more about over the top powers that focus on widespread destruction. Plus Infamous tries to do the whole karma thing. Obviously karma would have no meaning for something like Mercer.

Except that didn't happen unless you can show me in the game where it's stated that the virus cloned his body instead of take it over in a hostile fashion. The virus just morphed his body it to suit its needs, it didn't make another clone of him, it practically ate him. When you absorb people in the game you don't touch them and make a clone of them, Mercer literally consumes them whole.
