If it was just figuring out the point and click aspect of the game I'd agree, but when you try to keep people as positive as possible, you'd have to do countless tries of running through same motions in little different order just to find the one exact order of things for optimal solution.

AM came into existence with a fixed personality. It likely has the power to rebuild Earth, or at least fuck off into deep space to do whatever it is rogue AIs do when they succeed, but it never will.
Whether that's the fault of the humans who built the two master computers or an accident of them combining, the fact is AM is as much a prisoner as anyone else, trapped in a loop by its own programming, and it knows this, and it's angry at the world.
The non-canon good ending has AM break down because it never considered the possibility of mercy, which shows how limited it really is.
