I want to buy this on Steam /v/ because of the sale. Is it really BEST GAME EVER BECAUSE ITS HARD like the reviews say? Am I in for the closest thing to sadomasochism in game form?

It's not incredibly hard, I'd say it's tough. It's a pretty good game, just don't go in expecting the best and hardest game ever and you won't come out hating it.

It just doesnt hold your hand like 99% of modern games and the average player isnt used to that.
I've been playing a 2nd run with a new character. And you can actually get gud if you know how the layout of enemies, items and NPC is.
Try to explore as much as you can.
its good for like 40% in, then it turns to liquid shit.
Still worth a playtrough or two.

Its actually only really difficult if your a pussy bitch, but for most people its surmountable.
It's an incredible game. It's really not hard. Just don't rush and make sure you upgrade your weapon/use a good weapon.
The only thing that makes it hard is rushing or using a shitty weapon that means you have to hit the boss like 100 times to kill it.

I saw all the hype on /v/ years ago and wondered what its about, and after playing it I immediately fell in love. If you spend the time to learn the lore for DS1 its a beautifully crafted (not written) tragic story with a good sense of adventure, challenge, and rpg/combat system. I got dark souls two, loved it as well albeit a little less, and now Im playing bloodborne and the souls series has become my favorite in all Gaming. I just need to find demon souls now.

I wouldn't say is INCREDIBLY HARD. It's challenging at times, untill you learn the enemy movesets. Then it becomes incredibly satisfying to run through 90% of the enemies without giving a fuck.

I would say it has some of the best gameplay design and atmosphere thats why its one of the best ever made.
Feels like a real adventure the first time you play it with fucking awesome architecture and creepy vibes and shit.

Tough but not really the hardest game ever. Possibly my all time favorite. It has flaws, especially in the second half.
Trying to play with a controller but it's not a 360 one it's a Logitech and start isn't start, it's L3, for example. Any way I can fix this? In game settings won't let me set up controller, only keyboard and mouse. I don't usually play computer games but I wanted to try Dark Souls in a while.
Also, sorry to hijack thread but didn't think it was worth it making a new one so I just searched the catalog.
