They're all pretty garbage campaign wise. Ofcourse thats just opinion though. The first modern warfare had some bad ass sniper missions in a ghillie suit. WaW was bad ass in the fact that you're killin nazis and blowing up dudes in flamethrowers. If you're talking about recent in like the last 3 or 4 just dont bother if you're playing just for the campaign

MW2 is the best of the Bay-style action. CoD4 is a close second, but it does not go Bay-style; it's pretty sophisticated in its presentation of geopolitical proxy ops. Black Ops 1 is a legit trashy, hardboiled campaign that I'd recommend.

Ghosts is aight. Just play MW2 since the whole ghost/skeleton mask thing is based on a character from MW2 who wore the original mask.
