Is this right?

Yes, blind people can't play vidya.
>>
Video games are a visual medium, just like movies. Does the retard who said this also gets mad when characters on-screen use facial expressions to show emotion?

Fuck you.

Why would you need audio cues if you're blind?
>>
>>321649592
What games can be beaten by audio alone?

How the fuck would that even work?

Even if The game where beatable just by using audio cues how would you be able to win the first fucking time? Unless the audio cue's where literally specific instructions the cues are only there to represent whats happening on screen in a audio form.

The only game I can think of that even remotely can be used to describe such a concept is rhythm heaven and even they need a tutorial for each song.
>>
>>321650775
Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Runnerguy2489 does it regularly.
Punchout, Sinister1 and some other guy does it regularly.
>>
>>321649950
If you play your games with your monitor turned on, your not hardcore. git gud.
>>
>>321649592
I think he might be saying that you can beat a game without it having tutorials and bright lights indicating what to do, but just audio cues that teach the player how to play.

i dunno it's the only way this makes sense, and still wrong because visual cues are crucial
>>
>>321651031

there's some shitty indie game that is literally only sound. It's fully beatable and people have enjoyed it.
>>
>>321650775
I remember a blind guy beating Oddworld.
>>
>>321651148
That's false. OoT and Punchout requires you to know what type ok attack to use. They can't be beat on audio alone
>>
>>321651148
Runnerguy could do it because he has years of experience with the game though, no way could he have done it on the first try.

Audio cues would not have been enough to navigate the dungeons/Hyrule field. Memory was essential for blindfold run.
>>
>>321651148
Not on the first try.
>>
>>321651269
Fuck you. There's a reason they are called VIDEO games.
>>
>>321651361
It's not false, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyEZ7b2zD7Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvzIb53Lcno and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhHMW_atNG4

>>321651431
>>321651559
The poster asked what games could be beaten by audio alone, those can. Obviously no game could be beaten by audio only first try.
>>
>>321651031
>>321651431
>>321651559
I think "on the first try using only audio cues" means "didn't beat it using visuals first"
That's he only way this could work
>>
>>321651431
This. There's no fucking way that you would be able to beat the game literally blind if you never played it as many times as he did.
>>
>>321651653
>Obviously
So the game described in >>321651269 does not actually exist?

If you can beat a game on the first try with your eyes shut, it is very likely that it's a shitty game.

Fine. There's a reason they aren't called audio games.
>>
>>321651148
they beat it based on memory, not audio
they've beat it several times before
>>
No but a game that requires you to have sound is a bad game
Like fuck you, I play Isaac at work, I can't have my speakers on so I can't hear mom hands
THANKS EDMUND
>>
>>321650121
Nope. Video games are a digitally interactive medium.

You can play a video game that's only based on sound.
>>
>>321652768
>this much obvious and prejudiced ableism
Why is a game that requires sound bad, but a game that requires visuals is okay?

The gold chest in the second dungeon. If he says that his friend doesn't know what dungeon it is, that means it's not a unique chest (i.e. not leather or copper) and from there it's only guessing which chest is unique between the second and fourth dungeons, which would be the gold chest.
