Why is Metal Gear so memetic? I have never played any of the games, only watched the cutscenes of the first game as if they were a movie. The whole premise is stupid and unrealistic...and yet, there's as strange charm to them that makes you love it.

Because they combine both fiction with reality in a plausible way. That middle ground between fantasy and realism makes the series unique.

I recently played through this game and i was appalled at how short it was. The downloadable stories did add a bit of extra gameplay, but otherwise i could effortlessly shoot through it in a single day. Why is this?
