They really could make the game great of there's hundreds of tameable beasts, all of which have some use one way or another.

Even without guns, arrows, spears and slings could offer decent long-distance combat. Everything doesn't have to be Melee.
So what exactly is wrong with the idea of having a caveman setting? I think that's far more interesting than another BLAM BLAM WATCHING MOTHER FUCKERS DROP DROP, like the last 500 farcrys.
Think of all the cool anceint weaponry that could be implimented into this game. I think it could be so fun.

Well we haven't really seen gameplay but the assumptions seem to be that it'll be all the shallow shit of FC3/4 with a caveman skin, which I think would lose it's novelty quickly. I mean climbing caveman watchtowers is going to start getting repetitive too you know?
