Aside from having a sweet spot at the opposite end of his sword, Roy had different movement and aerial speeds, fell a lot faster, had multi-hit and fire properties on several of his attacks, and couldn't recover to save his life. And that was in Melee. In Smash 4 he's pretty much the Wolf to Marth's Fox with the changes he's gotten.
