>get game
>only comes with disk and two slips
Man i miss the days of ornate decorative instruction manuals this is a bit depressing
Plus one of the two slips is an ad for hardware
>plastic plate
are you 10
>>321579284
>Manual is digital
I mean, not like I ever read the instructions but it's the principal of the matter, dawg.
Xenoblade has a pretty hefty manual
The last game that had a big one before that I can remember is KoF 13
On the plus side, it's a lot easier to get a "complete" game. There's a few PS2 games I have missing a manual and it's annoying
>>321579284
They didn't even print the name on the disc.
>Right hand side
Triggered
This is the hell that our Lord, GabeN, has plunged us into. Have mercy on us, ISP Overlords, some of us still cannot afford thy zero limit internet plans.
One thing I liked about Fallout 4, it actually came with some stuff.

There must be a reason why the xbone cases are reversed
At least you don't live in Canada or Europe.
Canada
>get a bulging package that's been stuffed with English and French paperwork
Europe
>get a single, modest-sized instruction manual
>it's in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Portuguese
>each language gets like 4 pages each and rushes through explanations
>>321579474
Im at work tard
>>321579914
they're made for muslims, hence the green color
At one point, Nintendo said "fuck it" and began printing the Club Nintendo codes on the inside of the cover. Why waste paper on an extra slip?
>buy game from xseed
>50USD for special edition and it comes with artbook, guild pin, and game
>game has full color 40 page manual in english only
Some companies still get it right.
>>321579914
Most people are right handed.
>>321579645
Did the rerelease not come with a manual?
I just got it for Christmas and mine came with a "to view the manual go to www..." card.
>>321580009
Either that, or green is the only color left that hasn't been claimed.
Nintendo:
>grey & white
>sometimes red
Sony:
>blue
Xbox:
>green
All the good colors were taken already. No one's going to buy a console if all of its marketing was done in orange or purple.
>>321580028
Probably the only reason I got Onechambara ZII. 15 dollarydoos and not one single urge to open it up.
>>321579959
how's the lemonade business, kiddo?
>>321580179
>No one's going to buy a console if all of its marketing was done in orange or purple.
I'd go for orange, but it has to be with a dark grey background.
>>321580218
I clean a chicken house at night bro small store uses cheaper things cause stupid fucking dishwashers break shit
>>321579284
>get game
>comes with disc and one slip
>slip tells you to go to some website for the manual
Post top-tier game manuals.
Pic fucking related.
>>321580460
That thing had some weight to it.
>>321580371
chunky's chicken?
>>321580460
>use the master ball to catch a fearow
Trainer's Guide is shit.
>>321580460
the sudden rush of nostalgia gave me a boner
>>321580460
what game did this come with?
>>321580753
>>321580945
Pokemon Z - Professor Oak's Wacky Adventure in Pallet Town
>>321580945
Pokemon red, blue, and yellow.
>>321580945
digimon
no, wait, I think it was goldeneye
>>321580460
And the ass was fat to boot
>>321580460
Still the best manual ever
>>321580753
Why post about what you don't know about? The manual is not the same as the poorly written 3rd party guide.
>>321579284
>Disc is on the left side
What is this faggotry?
>>321580028
Xseed does shit right
>>321579284
>>slip tells you to go to some website for the manual
THE NAME OF THE GAME ISNT EVEN ON THE DISC! EL OH FUCKING ELL!

the future
>>321581062
>>321580460
This came included with TIE Fighter. It's basically a short novel. You'd never see something like this now, not even in some overpriced Collector's Edition.
>>321581361
>tells you to go to some website
Man, fuck this.
>try out the URL
>it doesn't work
>>321580460
The DQ8 manual needed an outer box to hold it. The game case won't close with the manual inside since it comes with a bonus disc.
>>321581192
Excuse me.
>>321582005
I bet the FF9 strategy guide is useless now since it told you to go to playonline.com for a lot of its content. Playonline is now for FFXI stuff.
>>321581597
>>321581282
>open case
>remove cover
>turn cover over
>input cover
>disc now on right side
>>321581725
They really stole your Pokemon in RBGY?
>>321582343
Man fuck that guide.
WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU CAN STEAL FROM RED HOOD MAGE #2? CHECK PLAYONLINE!
Soured me on guides and never bought one again. Mind you, I normally resorted to them for future playthroughs and as a bit of collector since my local gameshop would sell them at 30% off with the purchase of a game. FF8 was a great guide however. Damn shame they didn't follow suit.
>>321579284
Late 80s and early 90s manuals were all god-tier.
Simulation games would all have appendixes, intoducing vehicles, planes etc. I would love reading those things.
>>321581192
>>321582053
Neverwinter 2 manuals were pretty through too.
>>321580675
Nigger Fridays.
Heard of it?
>>321582005
>try a URL found on the packaging or instructions of a really old game
>it still works
>>321582942
Best guide company in my opinion was DoubleJump. Anyone else used their Phantom Brave guide? Probably the only company that I know of that made a guide that could compete with the guides you found online. Too bad they had to up and disappear on us.
>>321581725
I don't remember ever being defeated by one. That's a pretty cool feature if so.
Earth Defense Force 4.1: Shadows of New Despair has a thick, color print manual AND a reversible cover.
last game I got with a decent manual was sneran kagura 2
I know none of you guys would have played it but netstorm came with the best manual I've ever seen. It was huge, filled with lore and art work and all sorts of shit. God I miss netstorm, it was truly the best gaming experience I've had
>>321581725
They absolutely did not steal your Pokemon in my red version when I was a kid, nor my subsequent blue or yellow.
Anyone else just really bummed about how shitty the quality of game cases has gone down severly since the PS2 days?
>That thick fucking plastic
>That holder for you memory card
>Them thick manuals colored manuals
>>321579284
Dont forget that you have to install the whole game on the console. Disk is only needed to activate the game
What's the point in having large spaces if there's not a booklet, a single cd or cartridge, and more? Honestly, Make more room, slim down the cases.
>>321579284
i got shovel knight for wii u for christmas
it came with a fat as fuck instruction manual
and a note liner at the end just like the classic games. I hate the jews that run modern gaming so much...
>>321580460
brings back some memories.
god mine had like battery acid or some syrupy drink all over the cover. and the spine was coming undone. When I would charge my GB color I would also look through and write which pokemon i still hadn't gotten yet.
>>321579284
>>321579284
>Man i miss the days wasted paper I never read that went straight into the trash.
The nips are lucky, they get full color +30 page manuals on 90% of their games. 90s PC manuals were king though with backstory novels and shit.
Also
>mfw drakengard 3 came with a slip with a link to a digital manual
>the link never worked and they never fixed it
>>321588493
blizzard had top tier manuals back in the day. Now they are just laughable.
I remember reading Halo 2's manual several times waiting to get home after renting it.
