Ceremonial dagger makes the game ez for everyone until like the 5th level maybe or first cycle.

seeing how all we do is loop, you said it yourself that infusion is the bigger evil. if an average skilled player picks infusion it will inevitably result in everybody else dead and eventually leaving because only the guy with infusion will be able to handle the difficulty. were lucky that the guys that go for infusion are very bad at the game.
also, dagger has its good uses. for example, if the majority of players (due to dying early on) end up underleveled and 1 or 2 guys are carrying the game, and thus keep getting all the chests, dagger can help with experience distribution in the beggining of the level, allowing people to catch up.
i really shouldnt have to resort to walls of text to explain something that is pretty obvious.
