Because it legitimately isn't a good JRPG and has huge, glaring flaws, most of them coming from it being a AAA title that focused on graphics for the GBA of all things.
Golden Sun is one of those games that everyone played in grade school and loved back then because they didn't know any better. Playing them again today is a huge chore.

Really though I don't doubt it has big flaws but I'm not able to see them because it's literally the first JRPG I've played in years and the only one I've gotten into enough to complete. It's got me into the mood for JRPGs now though so maybe I'll go look for some more high quality onesafter I've finished Lost Age.
