I downloaded the ROM on my old Acer Aspire 5250, and I would alwayd get an error screen, I recently got a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop, and I Was in the middle of help before the thread got archived only an Hour in,or maybe 30 minutes, from being created, does anyone know how to get the game running? Every time I look it up online I get tips on how to beat Robot Masters in Other Megaman video games. The Games file type is .nrg.
Look up an "nrg to iso" tool, then use something like winrar to extract the iso, or if you're using win8+ you can just mount the iso

Win8 should be able to mount it iirc
You could also try universal extractor, it says that it can extract from nrg

Depends on your system but 32bit should work fine with anything
PowerISO costs I think, iirc they have a trial version but can't remember if that has a limit on it

Universal Extracted it and gave me these files, I'll still extract the _SETUP.1 right? Also game is old... but physical copies of the game are rare to find, which is why I downloaded a ROM.

OK tried i3comp extraction and was given 9 group files. One of theme, group nine, with sound files, I think there the sound effects of the game.

Any exe files in any of those groups? There should be one with the exe and game data etc

If neither i3comp or stix give you an exe the only other way I can think of is to use a VM to run Windows 98 and install it in the VM, then copy the games files out
Or maybe DOSbox would work
