I can ignore 3 missing story modes, but leaving 2 characters unplayable is rather lame. Also, I'm pretty sure one of them was a backer design.
It plays well, but the rest of it screamed deviantart donut steel OC, the kind anyone over the age of 18 should know better making, from the characters to the writing to the voice acting.

Saying Freedom Planet is a Sonic game is like saying Shovel Knight is a Megaman game. Sure, those are the most obvious and blatant inspirations, but there's so much other shit crammed into the game that calling it simply a clone of one thing is wrong. Shovel Knight is an NES game, and in the same vein Freedom Planet is a Genesis game. You got Sonic sure, but there's also Ristar, Gunstar Heroes, Rocket Knight, fucking Aero the Acrobat, way too much stuff that it stops being a Sonic game very quickly.
