In your opinion, what is the best video game controller?

I think it's the Dual Shock 3, there's a reason why it stuck around that long.
>>
>>321534582
nice one sonygger
>>
Keyboard and mouse and the GameCube controller are the best. N64 and the original Xbox controller are the worst.
>>
>>321535062
Pls ignore the Keyboard and mouse as an option, I really meant console controllers.
>>
>>321534582
dualshock 3 is too flimsy and small. 360, xbone, and ds4 are all good controllers
>>
GameCube controller for me personally although the DS3 is a close second. The color variety for the GC was awesome, it was fun playing four player with four different colored controllers. Never liked the sticks on the 360 controller for some reason. Genesis controller was comfy, so honorable mention goes to that
>>
>>321535624
That's why you can't be rough with it or it's gonna wear out pretty quickly.
>>
>>321534582
Gamecube is up there, but there's some types of games it just cant do well. That Wii U Pro Controller or the Dual Shock 4 id say are the best.
>>
>>321534582
>dualshock
enjoy shit d-pads
the Neo-Geo's controller is the best
>>
>>321534582

Best looking is EU Snes controller.

Best functioning is Wii U pro. Feels great and I've charged it twice in a year. Battery life is Elder-God tier.
>>
>>321535813
Yup ds4, ds3 gets flimsy real fucking quick, glad they fixed it with the ds4
>>
1. Keyboard and mouse
2. 360
>>
>all these underage b&
it's the snes

DS3
Saturn Pad
Fight Stick
Mouse and Keyboard
PSMove

all depending on the game
>>
>>321534582
ds3 was too small for my hands, ds4 was just perfect for me tho, so id say ds4 or xbox 360 controller are the best imo, i still got to try the xbox one controller
>>
>>321534582
Key and mouse ain't a controller
>>
DS4 and GC
>>
>>321536907
I know, just ignore it and discuss what's the best console controller is.

360
n64 is the best possible layout for a controller with only one control stick tho

I think the Xbox and Playstation layout is really game dependant. I prefer platforms with dpads so I would like the dpad to be at the top right
>>

Yet another poor soul tricked into thinking retarded layout = ergonomic layout
>>
>>321537616
they have a little dip that your fingers fit in mang, they're comfy as fuck.
>>
>>321537823
Yeah, but pressing down on them can be super awkward. Its like your pressing it twice. Makes wavedashing harder than it needs to be.
>>
>>321534582
How would it be ds3 if the ds4 is an upgrade in every way
>>
Gamecube
Wii U pro controller
>>
wii u gamepad for sure
>>
GameCube master race.
>>
>controllers don't have octagonal cutouts anymore
why
>>
>>321537930
That's why most newer controllers have regular shoulder buttons as well as analog triggers.
>>
ds2 is better than ds3

fact
>>
Dreamcast. Not even joking.
If I could have one with a PS Vita d-pad and the analog stick brought down a bit lower I'd be set for life.
>>
>>321538285
Didn't Nintendo only did that?
>>
The Xbone controller would be pretty close to the top for me if it weren't for the god-awful shoulder buttons. What the fuck her they thinking?

"Hey, instead of a button, what if we make a flat, hard-to-press lever that's incredibly prone to breaking?"
"Brilliant!"
>>
>>321535950
Are you joking? Dual shocks D-pads are fucking great.
>>
>>321536514
SNES controller has shit ergonomics mate

It's not the best just because it's on a great console
>>
>>321538676
You're supposed to place your index finger at the base of the trigger and use the space between the inside of your first and second knuckle to trigger the bumper. What kind of teeny tiny baby like hands do you have that this motion is a problem for you?
>>
As far as conventional controllers go, I think the DS1 is actually the most solid of the bunch. Durable, nice buttons, no fluff, and rotors that make it vibrate so strong it easily doubles as an emergency dildo.

I wish I could try out the Steam controller, but I think it only working with Steam exclusively is a huge minus.

They're separated and therefor shit for any and all fast paced games.
pic related is what a good d-pad looks like
>>
>>321538764
Not really. Having them four separated buttons makes it awkward for actually using it as intended.

>tfw I unironically think that the Elite controller is the best controller made in terms of construction quality and attention to detail to date.

Would Sony please step it up and make a DS4 as good as this beast?
>>
WiiU Pro Controller battery life makes it as the flawless winner.
>>
>>321534582
I like the dream cast controller for novelty.

The xbox one controller feels nice in my hands

Keyboard and mouse are the best for actually playing games.
>>
>>321539445
I appreciate all those easily swapped parts. I wish more controllers were easily customized like that.
>>
>>321539481
It's really light, and rather comfortable. I think it would make for a kickass 360 controller. The digital trigger doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
If only Nintendo isn't so anal about locking this shit down and making it annoying to use it on PC.
>>
>>321539665
Same. Only 3rd party modded controllers such as Scuf have anything close to this, and Scuf is real awkward in comparison to how polished the elite is implementation wise. Moreover, the software customization on that is what other controllers ought to have, and it's a shame that only the elite gets that treatment.

I really would like an Elite DS4. If Sony can also give us double the battery capacity on the DS4 and bring it to parity with 50hr on the Xbone controller, then I've little to complain about the DS4.
>>
I prefer the sony controllers, but that might be due to the fact that I grew up on psx and ps2.

The only thing I would change, would be the L2/R2 triggers. I would put them lower in the controller's back so that my middle fingers would easily rest on them.

Now it's really uncomfortable having your fingers in position to press both the R1/L1 buttons AND the triggers, if you want to have your thumbs in a good position to press the XOΔ⬜ and use the left analog stick
>>
>>321534582
Dual Shock 2 definitely.

Literally the only D-pads on existence that are useful for execution-heavy games like Tekken.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Good to know that /v/ never changes. And just to make it clear, I'm not the guy who replied "lel" to your Tekken comment, I'm just an innocent bystander.
