A game needs your help /v/
There's an online version of Ace Attorney around, it's called Attorney Online. Oldfags probably remember it as /v/ used to play it every now and then, we even had a server. Well, today the game is dying slowly, the amount of regular players is around 100 and I really wish the activity could increase because this is my favorite game ever, I've never had as much fun as I have playing this.

OK, I got a server for us running. Name is "Attorney Online Vidya (Vanilla)". I'll expect you there, anons, maybe we can play a case there. It's not just RP, the riddle is real and you have to put a lot of effort to solve most cases. It's like real AA except for without hand holding.

as much as I wish you could, this is just not the type of game you can make into an MMO. There's a fixed outcome, and who's the judge? I don't see this realistically happening

No there isn't. The player defending can fail to solve the case which results in a guilty. And even if they are good, the prosecutor can stop them if they are good enough as well. It's a huge battle of wits.
The judge can be anyone, doesn't make a difference. Judges that troll can be removed from the case.

This is how it works: The cases are like murder mysteries that the defense attorney has to solve. The prosecutor is there to add some difficult and make it not very easy. The judge is there to control the flow of the trial. There is no fixed outcome at all, the defense attorneys are most often unable to solve the case. It's like AA except for no hand holding, the solution is not layed out there.

Yes, those do happen every now and then... We usually just replace the judge with someone else. But it's still pretty rare.

Most people there are terrible at RPing, you'd be surprised. The best I can do is with witnesses as I am a case maker (which means I testify a lot), you should master RPing as the defense attorneys and prosecutors if that's what you'll want to do

Yes but download the client from that server will force you to update your masterserver.ini file. My link comes with it updated.
It's not really official, it's just the site that the creator made actually. They abandoned it already.

That? It's done by ini editing. But that's for advanced players. It allows you to create pretty much any character, as long as you have the images, soundclips and the will to "program" it.
