Think of a linear game you really like.
Now think of it put into an open world.
It's shit now
Ff13. Still awful
The Order 1886....
If it also has the open world mechanics then it would be noice

>MGS3
Could work if they put more effort into it than into MGSV.

>Super Mario Bros.3
>The Simpsons Arcade Game
>Resident Evil
>MGS2
>FFXIII
>Tomb Raider
>Demon's Souls
>Ninja Gaiden
>Sonic CD
>Jazz Jackrabbit
>Zone of the Enders 2
>Devil May Cry 3
>Yakuza 2
>Uncharted 2
>Bayonetta
>Max Payne 3
>MGRising
Yeah, maybe Zone of the Enders would be better in an open world scenario, but overall, i'll take linear experiences anyday. Even if i have to backtrack, make me backtrack across varied level design, not vast expanses of same.

>FEAR
>Literally roaming around getting into constant fights with various units of replicas and Heavies/Mechs in a sprawling city with the enemies constantly tracking you
Despite the fact that the ai would break, it would be godlike if somehow the ai could function correctly.

>open world uncharted 2
GTA IV or GTAV but with a different setting.

This.
Open world games are shit.
FFX
Pacing would've been all over the place.
If it was less corridor more A-B and everything in between it would be cool.

Why is there always at least one fag who feels the need to make an entire list of games like it's some competition about who can name the most.

I dont like bioshock infinite but I think this game wouldve been 100x better if it were open world
Wolfenstein the New Order
It's called The Saboteur and it's great.
oddworld, would be cool for a bit. but you would lose all the detail that makes them gorgeous
