Just upgraded my even-shittier-than-my-storage-and-nowadays-graphics-card motherboard + processor + ram...

What are some good games I can now play at respectable enough frame rates? What are you nigs playing right now?

I'm thinking about modding the absolute shit out of new vegas but what would you do?

The best Haswell processors shit on Skywell for a fraction of the price.

Skylake is overkill for gaming.

Also if you install your heatsink improperly it can bend the chip.

Are you telling the truth anon?
>>
To be honest OP, I'm jealous of your specs because my computer broke 4 years ago and Ive been having to get by on a shitty old setup without a GPU since then. I can no longer play ANY of the games I want to play, even on the lowest available settings. Saved £200 so far to go towards most likely a PS4 because it's cheaper than building a new PC.

I hope you enjoy the new gen games.

23 and Student/now doing a PhD. First year of my PhD incurred a lot of setup costs moving to a new place, paying a large (£1500) deposit which I'll never see until I stop renting. Otherwise I'd have a pretty sweet setup and FO4. Maybe some tendies too.

In the meantime I'm honestly considering purchasing a PS4 for a cost-effective gaming solution. Too many good titles this year for me to miss out, plus still need a good option for TW3 and FO4, plus NMS.

Won't the price of games on it be rather prohibitive though?
I mean at the rate you've been saving money you would be able to afford like one game a year.

Crucial MX200 is nice if you want someting affordable and reasonably fast.
Samsung is great - Evo line is a mainstream product, Pro line is fast, reliable and expensive.
Kingston isn't bad either, but stay away from the V300. ADATA wouldn't be a bad choice either, at least the higher models.

>>321508546
I think I can save the extra £100 by February, at which point I can buy a FO4 PS4 bund-a-roo, then get TW3 for another £30-40. Not really interested in much other shit at the moment. I suppose the cost effectiveness is only short term. Plus no mods. Plus no SteamSale.

I need to save like £500-600 to get a decent PC setup that will last plus the games I want.

Not sure on my final decision yet though.
>>
>>321509613
Well firstly - cheap and ITX don't go together, not for gaming anyway.
And the same goes for AMD CPU's currently.
Do you actually need an ITX machine or did you just fell for muh small form factor? I mean having a bit bigger box can't be much of an issue.

Plan on buying this in 4-6 weeks. I'm looking at 1920x1080 max settings gameplay. Not looking into 1440p, will this run anything I throw at it?

AFAIK 970 is one of the best bang for buck cards.

We are doing a speccy thread.
What GPU and CPU do I buy? Suppose about a $1,000 total budget.

My old GPU (gtx460) burnt out last month after 5 years' good service. All other components haven't been changed in the last 5 years, except for the motherboard, which was a quick replacement. Current GPU is a temporary fix that was meant to be in an office computer.

For pure gaming, graphics card will get outdated quickest, so I would go for that
The CPU's of these days are future proof enough.
