Demons Souls usually takes the same length to beat. And BB does have replayability with Chalice dungeons. At the very least, BB has the same replay ability as DeS.
Dark Souls 1 probably has the most content to it though.

THQ (who was giving Valhalla funding) died midway through development. They didn't spend the entire dev cycle fully working on the game because no publisher and therefore no money. They also had to switch engines which is never a quick and easy process.

How exactly? By adding in a few NPCs and a couple weapons? Woopity fucking doo, it didn't make it so the game magically has build variety, an incentive to play the game through again, good PVP, fix having to go through 2 fucking loading screens just to go to a different lamp, the backwards assed decision to go back to the farm incentivizing DeS health system, or the repetitive slash and dash combat that just makes me want to go play Ninja Gaiden 2 instead.

The dlc has some of the hardest bosses in souls and doubled the weapon content. Keep in mind every weapon sans 1 is unique whereas in other souls games a lot of weapons fit under a category i.e. greatsword, short sword, etc.
