Hey /v/, I hear there's some trouble with Steam, oh well.
What've you played today? Any plans for New Year's?
>>321442327
FUCK OFF TIMMY CHRISTMAS IS RUINED, IT'S ALL FUCKING RUINED
Not sure what I want to play, and unfortunately nothing for new year's since thegfwill be out of town.

what?
Me? I'm playing Watch_Dogs, you know that game where you steal people's money and have access to their private information.
>>321442462
You'll be fine, anon.Breathe, count to ten, calm.
>>321442542
What've you got in your backlog? Or have you started anything?
>>321442606
You've not even pointed out the cup being part of the wall, either.
>>321442813
That sounds nice. Find anyone wealthy?
>>321442327
>Any plans for New Year's?
Yeah, I'm going to empty my egg nogg supplies, watch netflix and cry myself to sleep like the last 2 years
>woke up at 4 PM
>Notice everyone losing their shit
>Check bank account
>Nothing gone, no purchases made
>Read that you had to be using Steam to have this happen to you
>tfw safe
>>321442880
My backlog is pretty extensive, but I'm thinking either Alpha Protocol, Grimrock 2, Overlord 2, or one of the Bamham games.
>>321442882You could always find a way to make New Year's special for you. Maybe there's a homeless shelter who'd appreciate a volunteer.
>>321442954
Yeah, I've not had anything happen thus far either. Keeping a close eye on my bank account though, just in case.
>>321443090
That's a big selection. Could use RNG to decide, I guess.
Bump.
War thunder
visit my grandparents then go drink with my father because my brother is going to go out drink with his friends and I dont want to leave my family alone
>>321444934
That sounds like a cozy time. How's War Thunder?
>>321445215
its fun if you like that sort of thing its planes and shit
you should find yourself a hobby
society doesnt reward good people
>>321442327
I've been getting comfy with Atelier Meruru these last days.
I don't really have plans for New Year's. I have somehow acquired proper friends this year, s-so maybe they will plan something, but I won't know yet. Otherwise I will just drink myself to numb the pain of the holidays like I did the last 20 years.
>>321446098
Sounds like something my father might like, may make him give it a try sometime.
I do have plenty of hobbies, anon - I don't do this expecting any kind of reward, the appreciation people show by contributing to the thread is enough.
>>321446172
Might be worth giving them a call to check! You could organise it yourself even, if they're not doing anything. I'm the host for my friends this year.
>>321446627
its fun but it requeres time and a good pc if you want sexy graphics
nice thread btw
>>321447319
I've let him use my own rig a few times, that wouldn't be an issue. Thanks!
might aswel post some screens
>>321447778
Slow thread. Guess everyone's busy panicking.
I've been playing Xenoblade X. Nothing's really been happening to my Steam account or my friends' accounts
I only heard about this just now. How bad is the damage of this?
>>321449279
Supposedly not so bad.
Apparently it's just the cache-headers pointing you to the wrong account, but everything in terms of CC info, billing address and phone number should be okay.
Official response so far: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/458604254431478327/
How's Xenoblade?
>>321442327
Finishing up Parasite Eve. I don't think I have anything planned for New Years.
>>321450106
How's Parasite Eve?
>>321449673
I haven't been playing long enough to have a full opinion. I just got it today and I likely won't have the time to play as much as I want to this weekend because of family, friends, all that good Christmas stuff.
It's just been guiding me through the tutorial, so far it just plays like Chronicles did, but with more guns, so, pretty okay. It'll probably get better once the world finally opens up.
And good to see this isn't an end of the world situation. Maybe something good can from this.
>>321450528
That sounds like a pretty cozy time.
Any plans for New Year's?Some guy suggested it may be the start of a HL3 ARG, which would be amazing if true.
>>321442327
Mostly Xbox/360 stuff, bit of 3DS and N64 with my bro when he came over. I don't even have a PC right now, this whole Steam debacle is just amusing honestly.
Also, on New Years I'm either going to a party or seeing my cousins.
>>321450838
Neat - what do you have on the N64? I have an old one stored away as well.
Sounds like an overall cozy holiday season.
>>321450458
Pretty entertaining. I like the equipment modding and the OST has some of that Yoko Shimomura so the music is pretty good. Gotta get to NG+ to get the true ending though, but it unlocks a completely new area.
>>321442327
>Any plans for New Year's?
Play MTG with friends, probably shitty Commander format, all night long whilst getting drunk and ordering shitty pizza
It'll be fine
>>321451186
Sounds pretty great. How has it aged overall?
>>321451474Honestly that sounds like my kind of New Year's. Hope you enjoy it.
>>321442327
Been playing door kickers all day lmao just noticed all of the cucking going around when i tried to buy more games and steam store wouldn't pop up.
>>321451474
>Commander
It's either that or playing Ascension with my friends these days. I really don't enjoy either
>>321451969
Yeah, they've taken the affected server (the one handling the store and cache) offline to fix it. Shouldn't be too long.
>>321452268
Why do you do it, then?
Wait I just woke up is the danger passed or what?
>>321452386
is it back up now? its up for me i dont know if I should put my steam card in yet.
>>321451737
Not too bad really. I guess the only complaints I would have is I don't like how the encounter system is handled, it's a bit of a pain sometimes, and I don't think you can cancel shooting once you queue up your shots, but I guess you could see that as a difficulty thing so you don't always go for using all your shots and instead use like 2-3 instead so you have time to evade.
FFX HD Remaster. Wanted something comfy to play. Character design still annoys the hell out of me tho.
>>321452559
it seems back to normal for me
>>321446627
>Might be worth giving them a call to check!
Well, we talked about how we wanted to do something throughout the holidays. But some of us are in different towns and we don't want to leave them out, so we might do an post-New Year's event.
>>321452398
>>321452559
Yeah, it's fixed now by the look of it.
Whichever server was causing issues has been rebooted, I bet. People are reporting getting the correct account info shown to them now.
>>321452627
How so?
>>321452268
Good thing I stopped buying cards after Onslaught when I was still a young teen
It's them that spend thousands of € on it and have 5 or 6 spare commander decks for me to chose from.
I also get to play Draft often with them, whenever one dishes out 80€ or however much it costs for all the boosters
Playan' all the new shit for free. Feels good.
And I don't liek Commander because everyone is just ramping (aka playing by themselves) to then win in a couple of turns with some cheesy method, mostly 50 tokens in 1 turn or some shit like that
I do like the latest deck one of them made for me. It's a mono red coin-flip deck. So much random shit. There's a card you and your opponent flip a coin, whoever wins deals X damage to the other and may chose to continue, each round doubles the damage.
I've killed the same guy twice in a row just by using that card. Bullshitting my way out of commander format
>>321453001
That's a nice sentiment - hope you find a way to make it all add up.
>>321442327
>>321442327
I got Grim Dawn, it runs like shit on mylaptopbut I'm enjoying it. I also got the Wipeout HD Fury addon so I'm happy.
>>321453067
Costume design mostly.Lulu's dress is almost entirely made out of belts., almost none of the clothing seems even remotely practical. It's fantasy, I know, it's a nitpick.

>>321453539
Good to know you're having fun. How's Grim Dawn?

Now: Spongebob and the Battle for Bikini Bottom
Later: pic related with family.
>>Mad Max
About 10 hour into the game. Too much grinding for my taste. Melee combat is boring and attacking bases are boring as hell. Vehicle combat is fun though a bit basic but i provides barely any loot. I am thinking about dropping it.
>>Pillars of Eternity
It is alright i guess. I am not in love with the combat or the story so far but it works so far and i will keep on playing it. Just finished Act 1.
>>Wolfenstein the New Order
Just started on it but its alright.
>>321453934
I only played 30 minutes of it but I thought it was pretty good from a first impression standpoint. I liked TQ so I think I'll enjoy it.
>>321453909
It's a taste thing, I get it.
I have a friend who wants to cosplay Lulu at some point, I bought her a cheap belt for Christmasalong with a gameand called it the first part of her costume.
>>321453934
>What are these gifs, even?

why?
>>321453969
As long as you're enjoying it, no need to change.
>>321454110
You're in for a pretty decent time with Wolfenstein - it's competent but not overly ambitious.
>>321454174
Good to hear - hope you don't have to play through all of iton your laptop.
>>321454594
Curiosity. Remembered to run it through Photoshop or Imgur? Just in case someone decides to check the EXIF data.
>>321454178
Haha nice of you. Hope the costume turns out to be great.

What's wrong with this guy? Does he not have heat in his house?
Someone told me this earlier so I'll wish you all the same.
Meri Kurisumasu!
I've only got to play EDF2 so far. Gonna play some Tearaway Unfolded later and maybe start Superbeat Xonic.
>>321454910
Certainly hope so - will be helping her out with storage space while it's in production, she's in a pretty small apartment.
>>321455379
With the power ofAMD graphics, you can save money on your heating bill.

>>321454865
>Remembered to run it through Photoshop or Imgur? Just in case someone decides to check the EXIF data.
Oh, thanks comfy animal bro. I actually never checked, but since I edited them I guess that removed the data, so I'm fine
kisses to you mr.whiskers
My sisters got me Nier and Drakengard 3, so I'm playing through Nier.
Shit's fun, but the combat is kind of slow... I should have known going from Metal Gear Rising to Nier.
>>321455909
Goodie - was just making sure. No need to expose yourself unintentionally. Also your friends look like fun people.
>>321456079
How slow are we talking? Also, congratulations on the games.
>>321456292
Not slow at all, just very slow compared to MGR.
Very fun, I like everything about it.
>>321442327
Lots of Bloodborne! Just got the DLC and I'm having a blast. Got a skill build going with +7 Blades of mercy so far. Gonna try and get the new Saif weapon.
>>321456431
Ah okay, fair enough. Is the pacing good, though?
>>321456625
It's good so far, I haven't gone that into the game though. Back to playing!
>>321456543
Good to hear you're having fun with it!
>>321456912
Enjoy! I think I'll go to sleep soon, it's 1 AM here now.
bump
>>321456079
>My sisters got me Nier and Drakengard 3
no fucking way. How can they be so based?
I demand context. One does not simply stumble upon those games
Taro games have mediocre gameplay. Play them regardless, it's more than worth it for the story. Nier switches genres quite often, even if each gameplay segment isn't deep, it's at least varied. You'll find bullet-hell, isometric gameplay, side-scroller, visual novel, typical jrpg, etc
Friendly reminder:
Do. Not. Skip. The. Boar. Side. Quest.
Or you lose this (no spoilers) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d1mFfFxiVw
>>321456292
>>321456625
Buy nier if you haven't yet. Gameplay could be god awful and it would still be worth it. Trust me, I'm deprived.
>Also your friends look like fun peopleIndeed. Don't think I'll ever have another comfy female friend. Godlike tastes in vidya, drinkan' gin&tonic while relaxing after uni activities in her place's balcony, and porking every once in a while. Also gets me magic cards, that's the best part of it all
>>321457403
... Okay, I might get my hands on Nier now. Something that switches between genres like EA does companies to screw over might be interesting.
>Don't think I'll ever have another comfy female friendSomething happened? Or just the usual growing apart?
A friend got me Wolfenstein: TNO. I've heard good things, and I'm excited. Still downloading though (( Didn't know the thing was 44 gigs )) but hey, hopefully it'll be fun!
>>321442327
>Tomb Raider Go
Looks neat. Game's nothing special.
>Hitman Go
Same as above, pretty much. Haven't put too much time into either, though.
>Super Mario 3D Land
Wasn't impressed with 3D World, but I heard Land has better level designs. Played the first few levels and wasn't really impressed. Will have to play more.
Grim Dawn and Way of the Samurai 4
Considering getting Tokyo Abyss from the PSN store but not really sold yet.
>>321458097
>Wasn't impressed with 3D World, but I heard Land has better level designs
You got it backwards.
Land is mediocre, but was alright just for being a decent Mario game on the 3DS. World improved the formula.
Still, the game is a slug right until world 6 or so, and the only real challenge comes from the super secret extra world.
>>321458081
It's alright. Doesn't act like it's anything more than it is - a competent shooter with fun gunplay and a fairly detailed setting for a shooter, the alternate versions of world events depicted in newspapers and such is great.
>>321458097
Might be worth either dropping or finishing one game before you move on to the other. The whole "immersive" experience and all.
>>321458510
... Is that a screenshot from Tokyo Abyss?
>>321458776
>Might be worth either dropping or finishing one game before you move on to the other.
This is definitely a problem I suffer from. I made a list once of 30+ games I put a decent amount of time into but never finished. I think that list was made last year. Since then, I've probably started like ten more games that I haven't finished.
It's a big problem -- I get distracted too easily.
Just got home. Going to play a few rounds of Squad before going to sleep.
>>321458964
Make it a point to stick with one game, is my suggestion.
If you find yourself trying to start another, delete it. The frustration of having to wait for it to install again might be enough to make you reconsider.
>>321459067
Have fun and sleep tight.
>>321458964
Know that feel bro. I've put alot of time in games like Bravely Default, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Zestiria, Tales of the Abyss and Monster Hunter 4 this year but never finished them. At some moments I just don't have the time to play vidya for long periods of time and I just move to something else.
>>321457895
>Something happened?
nah, new year's will be with them
Just sayan' she's one of a kind. It's pretty much the perfect horny male trap friend that has all the same tastes you have, only difference from that scenario being one less dick and not having to put your heterosexuality into question after the first "accident".
Can't wait for Nier Automata, since platinum will fix its only weakness - good gameplay. and bullet-hell is already confirmed to be in (pic related). I just hope it's not a pure hack'n'slash and that it'll still have towns, quests and other RPG elements. Hoping for multiple endings too.
>tfw haven't played anything recently because I gotta edit my amateur movie and its a huge pain in the ass
After that I can into vidya, r-right.
>>321459585
>Lost Odyssey
Thanks for reminding me that I got to the third disk like five years ago and never finished it. I wasn't a big fan, desu, but it still bothers me.
I got Bravely Default last Christmas and still haven't touched it, ayyy.
Replaying No More Heroes, I always replay something at Christmas. Got a hankering for OoT again.
Going to my mom's birthday party on new years, which should be pretty cool. I just wanna go up the hill near my house and watch the fireworks at midnight though.
>>321459608
Nothing wrong with enjoying a bit of the ol' dick, anon. We're all faggots anyway.
But I see your point - I'll get into Nier once my current Mount & Blade playthrough either succeeds or fucks me over.
>>321459635
Sure. Or find something to help you unwind on breaks.
>>321459831That sounds like a cozy New Year's either way.
>>321459750
Got to the beginning of the fourth disc and got my ass kicked by a regular enemy and I just quit.
I also bought three different copies of the game because every time the fourth disc just wouldn't work, even when I resurfaced the disc. Ended up buying the JPN-version because of the better box.
Also, Bravely Default is an absolute joy to play. The soundtrack is especially beautiful. But it just becomes a drag after a while and there's alot of micromanaging your characters but not as bad as Lost Odyssey. But stick with it, it's good.
>>321459932
Nothing can really help me unwind, besides perhaps Just Cause 3 but it hasn't beencrackedyet. I'm not the only one who plays out imaginary movie scenes in freeroam games, right?
>>321460421
Play Just Cause 2 instead. There's still a lot of performance pains that need to be patched in that game.
Source: I bought it. I can understand the occasional framedrop, but it also has a weird glitch where the screen'll freeze for a few seconds or the loadings screens randomly refuse to finish.
I bought the new WoW expansion on holiday sale. It's not as bad as I've been lead to believe, at least not yet, but the leveling is fucking great and the music rocks. I especially like all the random encounters, like there was this one little camp which you are lead to believe is a quest Hun/repair spot, so you head on over. Before you can reach it it gets blown up and kills the npc inside. The whole thing has been pleasantly surprising me.
>>321461253
Warlords of Draenor's content is alright for playing through the first time, and honestly the questing is probably the best it's ever been.
It's just that they really messed up when it got to the endgame.
bump
I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for Christmas, but before I start it, I want to replay through blue and start Sky. So I'll probably do that tonight
>>321462532
That sounds nice. How long do you reckon it'll take to replay Blue?
>>321462665
I'm thinking with all the post game stuff like 20-30 hours. In really excited to start Sky to. Heard it's really good
>>321462815
Fair enough. Fancy, hope it's in your taste.

finished the Talos Principle. Found all stars first cus I wanted to see everything and it turns out it'spretty underwhelming. Still I had an ok time finding them. Started Road to Gehenna after that. Fun, cool puzzles. I'm kinda into the new computerterminals/plot device. Not as into it as the one in the original but it's still pretty good. Geleta is a pretty good writer and the giraffe painting was nice :)

I spent most of the day play AC:Verdict day and hoping From software goes back to Armored Core.
Also emulated some GBC Shantae, gotta say that the art and spritework are pretty damn great.
