You have more than enough exp to make anybody usable, I've even taken Muarim to endgame a few times, but units like her, Muarim, Lethe, Astrid,and the pega-ponies don't have an awful lot of use outside EM which is kind of restrictive.
Also which sage outfit did you mean, PoR one, RD Sage, or RD Archsage?

The RD Sage/Archsage outfit. They were a little silly looking and I preferred her in a dress. I thought it was kind of cool seeing a strange character like her in a 'classy' dress. Made it feel like she had matures somewhat.
