The launch lineup looks good, but not stellar. EVE Valkyrie is probably the best game the Rift is going to get on launch, although Oculus probably has a couple more games up their sleeves. There's also weeb MMD content and Illusion game mods that already exist if you want those, although the only official Japanese Rift game I know of is Nekopara VR. You're really better off waiting until it's released before deciding if you want it.

However this is a market that will explode with other competition so it'll probably be better to simply wait it out another year or so for a higher resolution display and none of this oculus shit.

If this thing is really over $500 and you need a 970 it's going to be really niche and not as many devs are going to make games with it. PSVR is probably going to suck but it has a better chance of making VR mainstream. PC is just way too expensive, I wonder what the percentage of steam users who own a 970 or higher is.
