Maybe I'll start a new game when I'm done with Xenoblade X
I didn't like most of the playable characters but it has the best mech designs of the Xeno games
can't remember the ending.
I'm playing right now, about to leave for Solaris.
Any advice?
Also how much of the game is left, I know Solaris is the last part of disc 1 I believe.

I still think it's a bit over-rated and some of the plot points had me rolling my eyes,SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!but one of the better JRPG battle systems on the Playstation (I think Legaia beats it out though) and one of the better JRPGs on the system.
Still love me some Suikoden 2 more though.
I loved that fucking game. Reminds me to go through it again without nostalgia goggles.

Xeno is good, but hilariously overrated. It has some cases of horrible writing (entirety of Shevat was written by the same inbred retard who made Sands of Destruction later, one of the worst jrpgs i've ever seen), it has weak combat system, it's hilariously unfinished and overall feels way too pretentious for its own good.

Why would it be called 1, if it was the first one? Was the first Tomb Raider game called Tomb Raider 1 at the time? No, because they couldn't know they would be Tomb Raider 2.

you have to NOT do deathblows outside of boss battles unless it's a tough enemy. You do different combos with light medium and heavy attacks to learn stronger deathblows

Xenogears uses almost the same themes and tropes as Evangelion, starting with a heavy reliance on Freudianism and ending up with god machines. Date of Evangelion airing really supports the idea of Takahashi being directly inspired by it while making Xeno as well.
Also you really don't need to think to understand Xeno plot. Everything is given to you on a silver platter. VS never explains some things or just implies them, you need to figure out the rest for yourself.
Also Xeno's plot is arguably weaker than the plot of Breath of Fire 4. Entire Fou-lu's storyline is way better written than anything in Xeno and game in general has a shitload of Buddhism symbolism which is way more original and cleverly used than anything Xeno tries to push.
I was too young to really get into it, but I would load my brother's save to play the giant robot fights.
That shit was neat.
