Which faction is the least shit?
>>
they're all terrible
>>
>>321367706
BoS, suprisingly.
>>
Muh baby Shaun!
>>
BoS is now Enclave-Light.

I always wanted an Enclave-Light.
>>
>>321367706
It doesn't matter. Nothing matters
You're best off dropping the game
>>
I didn't find anything wrong with the factions in this game, except maybe the minutemen because of the repetitive quests
>>
They all suck.
BoS is lesser of the four evils.
Play through the main story if you must then drop it forever.
>>
>>321368758
This. The main quest is the only quest that is somewhat interesting/involved. If you try to find a side quest, settlement, form of crafting, or different character to play as that makes the game more fun (spoiler alert, you won't), you might just be able to sink 60 hours into it. But that's only if you're a very, very slow learner.
>>
You get the same ending narration and video no matter which faction you go with and there's not even a slideshow about your companions and the noteworthy quests you completed.

At least ME3 tried to lie to me with purdy colors and marginally different outcomes that basically mean the same thing.
>>
Institute seriously

they just want to help

Have you ever played a Bethesda game?

Basically it is open. Very open. The appeal is really just that you can make your own story up, using their setting and engine. Main story is often even unnecessary. The last Bethesda game, Skyrim, was so open that I had six well travelled characters, all wildly different, and only one ever "completed" the game's main storyline. 2 of them barely even started it.

Fallout 4 FEELS slightly smaller than Skyrim, but has great mechanical improvements, such as the fully constructable settlements, and really nice weapon crafting system.
Common complaints about it lately have been massively overblown things, often perpetuated by a very vocal minority, often who have not in fact played the game.

Common Complaints
>It is too buggy!!
A myth (mostly) started by some very whiny reviewers with prerelease copies. I have heard that console still is buggy however, but with 150h into it on PC, and 2 graphical bugs so far, I am going to say this one is bullshit.
>dialogue is crap!
Kind of true. For the first time, the protag has a voice, which is kind of lame, and the dialogue options are always 4, done in a shitty radial menu. There is already a mod to fix this though.
>mandatory follower! You have to have the dog!
These people have obviously not played the game. Yes, you meet the dog immediately at the start. But then you can tell it to piss off and never see it again. There is even a perk that allows you to have increased carry weight and damage resistance for NOT having a follower.
>shit game!
This is not an argument, just shitposting. Disregard.

One other thing this game has over previous ones is the absolutely crazy number of hidden shit.
>>
BOS
>>
>>321370470
I've never seen anyone bitch about the "mandatory follower" one
>>
>>321369983
>let's help the commonwealth by killing and replacing people and not share any of our massive supply of clean, fresh resources with anyone
>>
>>321369983
What I gleaned is that all they want is control, and they despise the world above.

The BoS is a bunch of nutbags chasing an ideal world where technology is not being used by anyone besides themselves.

The railroad just gives me a bad vibe.

The minute men are really the only hope
>>
>>321370470
First, many people feel Skyrim was a step down from most rpgs so using it as a comparison is a poor argument. Secondly, at least Skyrim had at least 5 factions with huge quests, and many long side quests, like daedric quests. Fallout 4 has barely any quests with more than one stage, and even less where that one stage isnt "go there and kill those"
>>
>>321371925
This. Also consider that both Skyrim and Fallout 3 were literally Oblivion rehashes with less content battantly hidden behind better visuals and perhaps better combat
>>
>>321369778
i spent about 3 hours and successfully experienced all the depth the game had to offer.
>>
>>321370470
>These people have obviously not played the game. Yes, you meet the dog immediately at the start. But then you can tell it to piss off and never see it again. There is even a perk that allows you to have increased carry weight and damage resistance for NOT having a follower.

But what will happen after saving Nick if you never meet the dog, in the main quest line you have to use the dog to find that killfag.
>>
>>321375276
Nick will still tell you maybe Dogmeat can track Kellog and then Dogmeat will be standing outside.
>>
>>321377219
Designed by Bethesda
>>
>>321377586
it's actually quite good design. there's a fully custom scene for it, a circumstance most players would never encounter.

>bethesda sucks so much for putting quality into their games
>>
>>321377653
>quality
>>
>>321377653
NO. Good design would be having Nick tell you that there's a dog that's kinda famous in these parts called Dogmeat and maybe he can help us.

Since, ya know, the way things are both YOU and HIM will bring up Dogmeat by name despite the fact that you have never even seen Dogmeat yet by skipping Red Rocket.

And if you skipped Dogmeat earlier you now have to track down Dogmeat first and fight whatever trouble he's gotten into wandering around instead of him just being right outside as if he heard his fucking name miles away.

he used a dog whistle anon. as a millenial i know you don't know what those are since you don't have any life experiences outside of an extremely narrow scope.

>it was too far away burhrhruh

it's a fucking video game
>>
>>321378278
>it's a fucking video game
then why bother with the dog whistle?
>>
>>321378278
How could I be so blind. A dogwhistle would subconsciously teach my character the name and existence of a dog he's never met nor heard of before. Bethesda is run by geniuses.
>>
>>321370470
I haven't really heard many complains about it being buggy.
At least not to the degree of people complaining about the lack of RPG elements and the "forced" story.

But a lot of that is people comparing it to previous Fallout games.
Which in that sense then yeah, it's a let down.

>There is already a mod to fix this though.
Shit covered in sprinkles is still shit.

Conclusion?
Shit game!
>>
>>321378435
maybe dogs are called dogmeats in fallout world you dont know do you?

cause generally you'd eat anything edible
>>
>>321370470
>Yes, you meet the dog immediately at the start. But then you can tell it to piss off and never see it again.

>don't pick up the dog
>follow the main quest
>talking to nick about how to catch le cereal man
>he suggests having dogmeat track the scent
>walk outside
>dogmeat following me

literally No Choices Matter: the Game
>>
>>321378565
Mama Murphy, if pressed, will reveal that Dogmeat is a local icon.

dumbass fuckin retard
>>
>>321378278
>it's a fucking video game

People aren't complaining that it's too unrealistic, they're complaining that the game tries to pretend your choices matter when they don't.
>>
The only choices are between the factions, and slight impact on companion relations.

Wouldn't expect much more.
>>
>>321378790
>the game tries to pretend your choices matter when they don't.

how does the game do that? can anyone give me any actual concrete reasoning behind that

because i dont think it "tries" to do that at all

now games like the walking dead, that's a game that pretends your choices mean anything.
>>
>>321367706
>people still side with BoS despite their ludicrous quasi-religious beliefs after Blind Betrayal is completed

Danse, far and away the most active and successful field Paladin in the entire Commonwealth, is exiled for being a synth. Something he clearly never even knew.

You're fucking stupid if you agree with Maxson and his rule set. Posting best faction.
>>
>>321377219
>and then Dogmeat will be standing outside
This bugged the hell out of me. How did the dog know to be there? Is Dogmeat a spy for the Institute!?
>>
>>321378565
Yes, yes. And the dogwhistle is what taught me this, I follow you. I mean, the character just woke up from crygenic storage into the ruined future where people are desperate enough to eat dogs, but the dog whistle. Thanks for beaming that info directly into my brain, Nick.
>>
>>321368758
This, I just cleared Lexington/Car factory for minutemen and it felt like a fucking work.

Holy shit its boring as fuck
>>
>>321378961
Why even give you dialogue "choices" to begin with unless they wanted to make it feel like you had a choice on what you said/did?

Might as well just skin the dialogue wheel all together and go into a cinematic or something.
>>
>>321379075
maybe nick did beam the info directly into your brain. he's a special robot after all

Yeah but that shit is recursive. Like, at what point is anyone in this chain of posts serious? Can anyone tell? Is calling someone out for posting cringe shit itself cringeworthy? Logically it can be because the cringeworthy post being called out is itself calling something else cringeworthy.

Who is cringe and who is cringer? My sins are not my own.

Yeah, and remember how neither FO 3 or FO 4 are like that at all? In the case of FO4, they forcibly jam you into either being an ex-soldier or his wife who's a lawyer, looking for your son.
>>
>>321370969
they set you up as being the next leader, so if the game wasnt shit you could turn all that around and start sharing it with the commonwealth
