Why does /v/ praise Kojima but hate Nomura? Nomura is like Kojima; ruthless in his ideas and will do whatever it takes to make what he wants a reality even if it's costly and resource intensive. Nomura wants all the details in FF7 Remake to be exact, like the road textures and the character designs.
All the Kingdom Hearts games he actually had part in were top tier, such as KH1, KH2(story could be less edgy) and 358/2 Days (He didn't have any part with the gameplay but wrote the script himself, making it have an emotionally touching story).
He designed Lightning and all the other FF10 and FF13 cast members, who I'm pretty sure /v/ praises despite the hallway linearity. But I guess this whole "chains and belts" meme is what everyone thinks of when they think of Nomura and not his actual accomplishments.
He is literally in charge of 3 games: FF15, FF7 Remake, and Kingdom Hearts 3. He's carrying Square Enix on his shoulders.
