Kojima is VERY through with his games. He might not be the best in any of the specifics areas (his writing since 4 makes it clear), but the final product is usually very good on the average, without any large flaw.
Well, at least till V, where he kinda forgot ending the story, or making it matter. I mean, you can remove it from existence and we only get one difference from the canon, and that difference is actually a retcon so it doesnt even matter.
