Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Wolf is a last-minute surprise announcement like Roy was.
Right now there's 7 DLC characters, 4 newcomers and 3 veterans (2 from Melee, 1 from Brawl). Sakurai's autistic enough to add one last veteran just so there's a full eight player smash match.
It would also line up nicely with Star Fox Zero.
