Why the hell is the common wealth not full green yet? There is no reason why every plant here is either piss yellow or dead.
They had plants in fallout 1 & 2, why is everything STILL dead now /v/?
so you talk about that but not fucking deathclaws, giant ass bugs/roaches etc? The glowing sea? the fact the water is not drinkable after 200 years?
The nuclear bombs in the fallout universe are different and the quicker you accept that the easier it will be to continue your life
>>321325451
but muh logic
>>321325193
damn dude, this post,as stupid as it is, made me realize how cool a game set in Chernobyl would be
>>321325815
Would be kind of cool wouldn't it?
I can't think of a plot atm but It will come to me eventually.
>>321325887
Fallout: Chernobyl
Chernobyl didn't explode, for one.
>>321325815
Shame no one has ever done it.
I miss seeing my holstered gun.
Why just cut it out completely? Why?
>>321325815
not sure if bait
>>321325815
What is S.T.A.L.K.E.R: shadow of chernobyl
I just pretend that it is autumn
>>321326339
The powerplant there DID explode, it wasn't an atomic bomb but it gave off more radiation than an atomic bomb would ever do.
>>321326012
That would be bad-ass, but I think Fallout should stay in America.
>>321326609
oh shit you're right! is it any good?
>>321325815
>realize how cool a game set in Chernobyl would be
I can't tell if you're trolling or just really, really new
I just pretend that it is autism
>>321325193
1. it's autumn in the game
2. chernobyl was a reactor leak and fallout was a nuclear warhead detonation.
>>321325543
He didn't read the lore
The Great War happens in the future when weapons are more dangerous and destructive.
Read the lore. Understand the lore.
>>321325193
>Chernobyl = nuclear explosion in a power plant
>Fallout = several nuclear bombs dropped all over the world
Please do the math.
>>321326534
The sheer laziness of it pisses me off.
>>321325193
Also, at Chernobyl they were actively working to fix the massive release of radiation with thousands of men.
After a Nuclear War there wouldn't be teams of people fixing anything so the release would be more severe resulting in dead areas of the planet hundreds of years later. This would chance the ecosystem and probably create massive dust deserts, after a nuclear winter of course.
>>321325193
Nucelar bombs release different types of radiation to a reactor melt down.
Google the Nevada test site. Parts of it are still heavily irradiated, infact, parts of it are so irradiated nothing will be able to live there for the next 10,000+ years.
>>321325815
>>321325887
>>321326012
>>321326642
IT'S FUCKING LATE AUTUMN/WINTER in the game it even says it in the Pip-Boy you retards
>>321327064
Right?
Can't tell if I'm being trolled or not.
>>321325815
somebody mod fallout 4 the chernobyl
jsut but more focus on survival.
god you are so fucking stupid.
literally read some fallout lore
>>321326843
200 years later..
Plants should be growing here by now, even if we were to assume all the bombs dropped were at the level of the Tsar Bomba (most powerful bomb tested as of date) There should be plants here.
If they're truly dead STILL after 200 years like fallout 4 shows, then there's no way in hell that any animal should exist here.
>>321327223
Dynamic seasons mod can't come soon enough. I want to experience nuclear winter and lush summer.
>>321327227
Can you please not post for 6 months?
>>321327351
Your tits are spazzing across the board.
Calm them, enjoy the holidays.
It's fall if you didn't notice...
>>321327362
Look at this picture.
See those two craters? Nuclear bombs were detonated there 60ish years ago.
Nothing will ever grow there again.
>>321326339
when you say chernobyl didn't explode are you saying there was no explosion at all? because that is false.
>>321325193
it's not Chernobyl but Pripiat
>>321327351
>hey people are saying that there should be life by now so I'm going to put something in the lore to justify it then we'll have shill defending us
>>321327764
But it's in the Fallout 1 manual...
>>321326834
>>321327351
Why should I read the lore? No one at Bethesda did.
>>321327362
Well, 200 years old food also shouldnt be edible.
People shouldnt turn into ghouls.
Animals shouldnt turn into violent monsters.
Hell, in my opinion the planet shouldnt even be habitable anymore.
In the end its just fiction. The real world logic doesnt apply to it.
>>321327351
>>321326834
Fallout 2 had fucking trees everywhere, retards
Face it, Bethesda is retarded and can't make a proper Fallout game
>>321327974
Shut up nerd.
>>321325193
i enjoyed fallout 3 and Vegas but this trend of stripping/dumbing down features and mechanics really triggers me.
I hope the next FO game adds more than it takes away. Next gen sequels have been lacking. FO fanboys that defend everything are a cancer on gaming just like any other drone.
I'm glad I didn't spend money on this shit. How autistic does one have to be to waste their time with shit like this? I play games that are actually fun
>>321327832
>b-but they thought ahead
good for them!
on one hand the great war did canonically fuck up the environment and lead to heavy drought conditions, on the other hand bethesda made it look like this because it was easier and cheaper, not because of any interest in maintaining the lore.
>>321325815
Imagine this:
>Game is set on Chernobyl
>After years of radiation, some scavengers go ther to loot shit that has been left
>They find magical shit and mutant monsters
>Game focus on scavenging and fighting your way through the city
>You can fight raiders, other scavengers, gangs and mutants
With this much focus on scavenging, I think the name should be something like S.C.A.V.E.N.G.E.R. because it sounds cool for the dudebro audience
>>321326834
Fuck the lore, make Fallout pretty and modern
>>321328164
What? It would have been cheaper to just recycle the plants from Skyrim.
Here's a nitpick:
The game sucks.
>>321328004
this
It's pathetic that this game was essentially made by a bunch of friends whom aren't even qualified to do their jobs well.
The writer should be publicly executed. The only reason he even has a job is because he's best bros with the main faggot.
You know who else couldn't follow lore? Lucas and everyone acknowledges he fucked up the prequels. But fags love to defend Bethesda over everything
>>321326752
Is everything Fallout wishes to be. Just download the 2009 pack and the experience gets even better.
The only con I found is that it's kinda short, but the locations, the sense of loneliness and danger, and the action and enemies' AI are well done.
>>321328512
>everyone acknowledges he fucked up the prequels
Go on /tv/ right now and you'll be surprised
>>321328040
Rude...
Yup, just look at all of this GREEN
I just started playing Fallout 4 and I expected more watering down based on previous Bethesda games but this is ridiculous. I only played for 30 minutes or something and I'm already drowning in armor, weapons and ammo. Maybe I'm just too used to modded New Vegas but this doesn't seem right at all.
Dialogue is awful and half the time the conversation doesn't even follow any kind of natural progression.
Quest markers seem even more in your face than before as well.
I'm sure some great mods will come out later though so I don't regret buying it.
>>321328227
Oh shit, what if it had real Ukrainian voice acting?
>>321327618
>nothing will ever grow there again
>60 years, plants are growing directly outside of the impact crater
>>321327618
>>321329362
Because those plants weren't incinerated by flames that reached hundreds of millions of degrees.
>>321328691
it's nothing but youngsters whom grew up with the prequels. I have yet to meet an adult that likes the prequels outside of a few scenes.
the opinions of some twenty something faggots doesn't amount to shit in any arena of thought.
FO4 isn't prequel bad, but pretty damn close. It should have easily been the definitive FO game and its not. That's why people are so butt blasted
>>321328831
it is in the desert isnt it?
>>321325193
To be 100% fair, the game starts in late october, but I agree there should be more vegetation in general.
Unfortunately bethesda is fucking obsessed with radiation and pre-war bullshit instead of the stuff that happens after the dust settles so we get borderlands instead
>>321329738
hundreds of millions, lol
>>321328831
You fucking faggot arroyo is dying which is precisely why you leave to find a geck.
Merry Christmas motherfucker.
>>321330452
Technically it's more like tens of millions for a split second. But that's enough to vaporize anything and everything.
>>321329738
i don't think you should be arguing scientific topics, for your own good.
Because it's fall/winter dipshit.
>game takes place in boston
>none of the 200 year old canned food is clam chowder or baked beans
>only one kind of mirelurk looks like a lobster
>minuteman radio doesn't play yankee doodle
>npcs don't have boston accent
>>321330873
>no accent
Seriously?
How do you fuck that up?
>>321325193
You could post a picture of Hiroshima, it would make more sense.
>>321326538
He's probably a console peasant that's why
>>321330873
>some of the NPCs have Boston accents
>BUT NOT FUCKING ALL OF THEM
>>321330606
And it's also the greenest wild area of the game.
Only properly green spots are terraformed locations like Vault City.
>>321331129
Everything I find on Hiroshima today shows a bustling cityscape and lush greenery.
That can't be right, right?
>>321331129
Right, because China helped clean and rebuild the USes devastated areas.
>>321330950
>Russians
>Irish
In Boston. 200 years later. It makes no fucking sense, they wouldn't have accents by that point and even if they did they'd be watered down, not so thick it's like they just got off the boat.
Bolts on the left hand side
I just don't understand why would they do that
What's the point of moving it from the right
What's the point of putting it on the left
Why would anyone ever thought it was a good idea
I just don't get it
>>321330950
A lot of them do, just none of the companions as far as I remember. Nick has a sick accent though, not really sure what it is though, sounds like something out of a Noir movie
>>321325193
I'm sorry I ever started this meme /v/
>>321325193
It's autumn.
>>321331606
Picked it up from things like pre-war ghouls or isolated ethic communities like that beached ship,
>>321326634
It is Autumn. The game is set in November.
>>321331837
Fair point, the game is also full of piles of fallen leaves.
>>321331623
Nick has a "that really common voice actor from Skyrim that they rehired for Fallout 4" accent.
>>321331950
He was much better in 4. And even then he had a different accent in 4 anyway
because the world is based on the fear of 50s-60s americans, they didn't fear that a global nuclear war would lead to lush greenery and friendly cooperative people rebuilding the country
>>321331610
so they could have it share animations with the shittyass pipe bolt action, a left side bolt is for a left handed person who is shouldering it on their left shoulder.
>The new system for gaining companion affection is, by some miracle, even MORE obtuse than New Vegas
>The HUD looks unfinished
>The story is retarded
>Dialogue wheels, as expected, were a terrible idea and give you nowhere near the range of choice in conversations that you had previously
>loot randomization means that you'll always find shitty pipe rifles and worthless loot behind Master locked doors and safes
>Vaults are uninteresting and there aren't nearly as many
Only thing I can really say I approve of is the crafting and Bethesda making the Brotherhood of Steel act more like they're supposed to. Also Power Armor feeling like a mini mech is also a nice revision.
>>321332462
There was 5 vaults in 4 and 5 in 3, less in 1 and 2.
>>321325193
Is the game in a playable state yet? I'm thinking of picking it up on thePS4and want to know about any potential bug fixes.
>>321332616
Maybe it's just because they don't feel nearly as interesting as the ones in 3 or NV.
Vault 95 is a huge copout, Vault 111 is just a plot device, and Vault 81 just isn't that interesting. I guess what I'm trying to say is that none of them make you go "oh, that's fucked up" like Vault 22 or Vault 11.
>>321329738
>hundreds of millions
I think it's time to stop posting, before you embarrass yourself any further.
>>321325815
cmon son
Good thing there are mods.

>>321329937
oregon
>>321332934
Yeah the vaults in new vegas were definitely the best in the series.
>>321332616
1 and 2 didn't really have much of a focus on the vault experiments themselves so much as the people behind them, or the effects of what happened afterwards
>>321333168
god i love hodilton
such high quality videos
>>321333168
Damn that's really nice.
Bethesda is lucky that they can half-ass games, have people mod them to make them better, and still reap critical acclaim for doing less than a quarter of the work.
>>321325193
They had plants in fallout 1 & 2 but they also turned the west coast into a desert
>>321329243
Dude! We could easily save money on voice acting by hiring the cheapest guys.
its not like anyone understands russian
>>321328676
>download Complete 2009
Kill yourself.
>>321332432
Following that logic they could just put bolts on pipe weapons on the other side instead of flipping actual irl weapons like retards
>>321332079
Not really. He did a good job as Codsworth, but Nick is kind of grating.
>>321333637
In fairness, California is undergoing desertification right now. I can imagine several decades of even more reckless consumption and nuclear Armageddon would exacerbate the process.
>>321335985
Canonically the great war fucked up weather completely and it's eternally summer so these chernobyl comparison pics really show a lack of understanding of lore.
because it's fall and the leaves have already fallen off the trees for the year.
It's autumn in the game
>>321327223
then how come if I wait multiple months nothing changes?
check mate.
>>321336348
Sounds like a shitty dev excuse to me.
>>321336774
There's actually seasonal decorations in cities. Either way the only problem with F4 is that settlements themselves don't have enough variety in greenery in the settlements themselves. There's mutfruit trees that are nice and green in Diamond City at least but Fallout 1/2 have more variety in tree types.
>>321337437
Bethesda didn't come up with it at least.
>>321337712
only problem in regards to greenery*
