About to play this for the first time. Is it good?
No, it's like 40 hours of fetch quests that are interrupted by neat but incredibly poorly implemented gimmicks. The only reason people like it is because MUH FEELS STORY, and those people should fuck off and watch a movie or read a book instead of praising shit games just because it made them sad.

Yes, just keep in mind that the boar has a million health but can be cheesed through the surrounding rocks, and when fishing occurs, remember that the game explains it wrong and just google it. The fishing mini-game is actually pretty fun.
Except for a bad graphical performance and the lack of regions and cities this game is fucking great. The fighting gets more fun when you get to the second half, where you can use spears and the big weapons.

Pretty much this, I like the story and music but the gameplay is meh. My advice is to fuck all sidequest, play on easy and just burn through it, and then maybe watch highlights of the NG+ on youtube or something unless you want to play the last bits 3 more times...

Watch the two last endings on youtube.
There's no point in replaying the second part of the game two times more just for a few minutes of a new cutscene at the very end.
The game also became piss easy, you just one-hit every enemy with no challenge at all
