Goddamn this game is so awesome. The platforming, the artworks, the atmosphere and the soundtrack is god tier.
Any more games like that?

Might be too cutesy for you, but all the elements of Yoshi's Wooly World combine beautifully imo.

>GOTY edition announced a week after release
Eh, I'll wait for when it goes on sale.
>>321281242
Not really, it's pretty much one of a kind.
>>321281242
The gameplay is simpler, but A Boy and his Blob on the Wii has a lot of those qualities.

Try Rayman legends, the gameplay may not be as fluid but it's still fun as fuck

>the waters cleansed
absolutely GOAT track, sounds like it would play in Jak and Daxter or something
>>321281242
I'd say Child of Light has god tier artwork, atmosphere and soundtrack as well, but platforming is limited to the overworld since it's a JRPG
tropical freeze
im sure its neat and all but i'll wait for all in one bundle thing next year

If you're talking about a cohesively constructed, well thought out game with 10's across the board in all departments, the answer isMETAL SLUG

>Bought this yesterday on a whim because it was £8 on the Xbone store
>Have zero motivation to actually start it
On well, its there for a rainy day.
>>321282602
It's one of the best platformers out there
>>321282846
in aesthetics, sure. straight gameplay, no.
>>321281242
I kinda want to get this game but those dev fucks are going to release a new version of the game or smth next year. Think I'm gonna wait for that.
>>321283024
What would you call better gameplay wise?
>>321283024
>in aesthetics, sure. straight gameplay, no.
i disagree. I enjoyed both the gameplay and the A E S T H E T H I C S
the music was very enjoyable too.
I was on the fence about the game at first, it was beautiful and the world was quite fun to explore and embrace the sights of, but it needed something extra.
Then I played a little more, and unlocked that bounce mechanic.
>Firing myself off projectiles
>bouncing off enemy after enemy to reach high places
>Subsequently unlock the fucking triple jump
>Almost never touching the ground
I dunno, I never heard anyone else praise it as much as I feel it deserves it, but that game mechanic alone felt so fucking good, added a whole new layer to the game I've never experienced before in a platformer. Added so much flow and speed, it gets fucking nuts when you master it.

Ever tried that AC sidescroller? Heard it was pretty good
>>321283024
on the contrary the gameplay is great and the controls are very tight
>made in unity
People making fun of unity has no idea what it can actually do
>>321281242
I could play this game forever. It's amazing.
They really should do a sequel or just make more games like it.

It's nothing to do with Unity, but this game is sort of fucky if you don't play it on a PC made to run next-gen titles. I played it on a GTX 760, so there were no problems at all. But if you attempt to play it on a nice laptop, it's impossible. The game slows down. I mean, like a Nintendo game would. It's hard locked to 60 FPS and actually slows down instead of looking choppy.
I know
>gaming on a laptop
Believe me, I never do, and Ori is pretty enough on a big computer screen or even your desktop hooked to a TV, but the slowdown is some serious bullshit. No other Unity game does this.
I wanted to play it but all my button mapping was broken and I couldnt fix it :(
This game is my surprise GOTY, I didn't expect much but the music and platforming segments were great. I wish it had been slightly longer though. And not with a sad ending.
>Ori and the Blind Forest is literally the best looking 2D platformer with an original style I have ever seen and the platforming is great fun and great exploration
>Axiom Verge pulls off the retro look well but isn't quite as visually impressive to me but it's the greatest love letter to Metroid
I can't decide which is better
Soo is this worth the $12 or should I wait for that "bundle" everyone's talking about?
>>321287240
Buy it and play it asap. I know I'm shilling really hard here but the game is great.
>>321287240
It's really good, but short. Took me ten hours.

>wii u exclusive
