Not really. /mhg/ is full of dramaqueen casuals.
If you go up against something really difficult you can try to get people from /v/ to play with, although its a bit hard to find people.
Generally you just have to power through it. Take lots of lifepowder with you and try to save your teammates.

different but anything from 4U that returned in X is awful. I absolutely loathe high rank outraged monsters not because of their 1HKO attacks but the areas they fight in. Ancestral Steppe, Volcanic Hollow, and Frozen Sea are all absolute horrible areas and are the target for 70% of quests. The garbage arena from 4U is also in DESPITE Moat Arena returning, which is a far better area. At least Ancient Forest shows they can design a proper gen 4 area but that's only 3 good zones in the entire gen. (Primal Forest, Ancient Forest, Heaven's Mount)

X is easy until you limit armor spheres. In a high rank game gunner defense does not need to go over 250-300 and blademaster defense has no reason to go over 500. AKA: sell any heavy armor sphere and don't upgrade armor when Ferocious monster parts start appearing. If you upgrade armor beyond this point you are just a baby who doesn't like challenge

There's the aerial style that allows any weapon to mount, but mount resistance is increased. The best change is that when team mates hit the monster while it's mounted, it actually progresses the bar instead of knocking the mounter off.

Instead of needing evasion to avoid aoes, we've been needing it to avoid homing moves and to cover our asses from all the random and unpredictable patterns monsters have been getting.

The tri los was fine
But now he just stays in the air and spams the new and improved super homing claw, which while easy to dodge, is annoying as fuck to deal with, especially if you're in a multi monster mission
Honestly a lot of the non-zinogre/pinkian changes and additions were for the worse
tiny cliffs forcing jumps were awful, the new arena was awful, dicknose monkey subspecies and his superhard head that takes up 80% of his size, najaralas, time wasting climbing up areas, mounting, imbalanced as fuck jump attacks
So much awful shit was added
but then there was shit like pinkian and new stiggy ziggy, possibly two of the best fights in the entire series now

just start with Tetsucabra, it's easy to get and makes you pretty tough. From there you can look for a real set of armor you like, I used it until I saw Rath Soul armor from Azure Rathalos. It gave Earplugs, Affinity and something else I can't remember, iirc.
