PT was nothing but pure atmosphere. Yeah, there were jump scares but they were well done. For a free demo to be better than 95% of actual horror releases of the last 5 years is insane.

There is nothing stopping any of them from making not!SilentHills now that Kojima is officially free of Konami.

It didn't seem like a Silent Hill game, although they probably were trying to stray away from that.
Silent Hill games are very atmospheric and deliver their spooks with the environment, the music and sound effects (like monster growls when and static)
PT mostly delivers horror by trying to shock you and jump scare you (no, that one ghost or whatever isn't the only jumpscare, that's most of them)
Only the latter half seemed kind of genuinely spooky.
Silent Hills would've been a decent game though
