Those sorts of games have never appealed to me. I don't play them.
DeS and DaS drew me in with their atmosphere, almost complete lack of hand holding, and generally solid level design.
I think the combat is too shallow and kind of shit, I've never cared about the PVP, and I'm just tired of Souls game after Souls game being pumped out all the sudden and not really changing or improving the mechanics in any major way, and in II's case taking steps backwards in atmosphere and level design.

Ignoring DaS2, what makes the Souls games special is their artistic design, bodybuilding and ambient, which go hand in hand with the simple but solid and challenging gameplay.
A lot of people aren't looking for that in an RPG, they just want a big world open world game with character customization, little details spread around the place, lots of content to go through and as many side quests as possible.

I really disagree. By being on the PC it gains one or two slight advantages. Since I have a Vita and a PS4, $50 a year for 4 free games a month is a great deal, plus the discounts are alright sometimes. I don't see it dying anytime soon, desu. Pretty sure Demon Souls didn't die because it wasn't on PC.
Also, though there are the rare hackers on consoles, instantly you get tons of pirates and hackers and the community instantly goes down the drain because of kiddies that are in these kinds of threads 24/7 shitposting.

Video games used to be 60 FPS as a standard, on PC it has been for decades now. This only changed when early 3D games came around and stopped being able to handle 60 FPS.
These days the "30 FPS is the standard" bullshit is a damage control that marketers use to justify the fact that consoles can't handle 60 FPS on most of their games.
Which is fine, sure. But on PC that doesn't make any sense. That's why people are upset. They're more upset recently as actual PC games become rarer and rarer, and console ports have become where the majority of our AAA games are coming from.
I grew up on PC gaming, and I've almost always played games at 60 FPS. The exceptions are games that taxed my computer and ran like shit. But below 60 FPS for me was always a compromise, never the standard.
So finding out that a game in 2015 that I am perfectly capable of running at 120 FPS has been capped at 30 FPS just because consoles can't handle anything higher is very frustrating.

There is no reason at all not to take advantage of that. It worked well because we had lower standards when it came to FPS back, not only that; the game was designed around that fps in mind, and a stable low fps is more tolerable than FPS fluctuating properly which modern games seem to have an issue with, inconsistent framerates is the most jarring experience next to extremely low fps.
Talking about OoT, which by the way, aged like milk because we have, believe it or not, high standards when it comes to FPS and developers are trying to push this under the rug.

Turns out it's got nothing to do with the mechanics, because I bought it on the 3DS and the silky smooth 60 FPS makes it so much better.

I hope they bring it out on PC so it can strive towards less exclusivity. Console game sales make the bulk for whatever they develop or allow on their system. To not allow a extra increase of sales via PC would be a missed chance. Plus with Xbone games not budging it could get them better PR.

It doesn't work like that. Some people are maybe just waiting to buy a console. For example, I wanted Zombi U, now I have one less reason to buy it. If Microsoft releases Quantum Break, Scalesomething and other games on PC, I would not buy their console, but if they don't I will in the future (probably for cheap, but still).
Also, making a good PC port is also expensive, it might be risky.
I don't get why everyone is so anal pained about console exclusives these days, they existed since the first consoles came to be and nobody was bitch for a very long time, why did this suddenly start in last couple of years?

It's usually just about "sequels" that didn't come out on the same consoles.
Bloodborne is PS4 exclusive, after Dark Souls games were on all platforms.
Bayonetta didn't come out on Wii, but it was exclusive on Wii U instead of PS3/PS4/Xbox consoles.
So I think that's the problem. Most people aren't interested in the pretty poor Wii U library that are into hardcore japanese hacknslash games like Bayonetta. Most of those games come out on PS4 since it's Japanese orientated (Nier 2, NiOh, for example).
