Why don't we have a good racing game like Forza or Gran Turismo on PC yet?
Too much money for linceses and devs don't wanna spend that much cash on a PC exclusive which will certainly fail if it's not a MOBA or WoW in 2005.

Dirt Rally is too focused on one thing.
iRacing is basically an old boys club.
PC and AC have no true career mode.
Let's face it - neither Forza nor GT excel in any particular aspect but they really nail down progression.

PC sims offer great physics, customisation and realism.
Something consoles cant beat and I pee in your mouth for saying something about progression in GT series.
In GT4 there were special missions where you always started last and had to come first in set number of laps, I fucking hated it.
I cant believe this has actually become the main and only way to play GT.
And just because some game is "too focused on one thing", its not bad if this game delivers top notch experience, If you want experience in other racing genre just get another game or mod.
rFactor did it well, every car and every mod you can think of are available (physics kinda sucks so rF2 is probably more worth recommending)
On the other hand, rally in GT were pretty good in GT2 and even 4 but in GT5 and 5 I just cant fucking stand it, this slidey piece of shit (maybe I just know more about cars to recognise how ridiculously unrealistic it is).
I am not even talking about this wankfest every time you buy a car you have to suffer maybe trough half a minute of loading to show this car, start up animation and the loading back to menu...
Someone did some calculation and to see this shit for every car would took hours
And great course designeravailable on tablets only
GT is the shitiest example of a good racing game you can find, Enthusia from PS2 is still better than anything GT but I wouldnt expect shiteater to know about it.
