Your build is alright, don't sweat it.
I would maybe swap a point or two from might to resolve or constitution since your character won't be doing both damage and tanking/controlling at the same time.
On normal you don't have to worry about minmaxing anyway as long as you use everything that's available to you for harder encounters (potions, scrolls etc)
As for the game, it was alright, I liked it, but the antagonist's motives werekind of mehand it soured the experience as a whole a bit
The game is great, the best computer RPG released in almost a decade now.
As for your build, it seems decent but Fighters are boring in my opinion. Monk all the way, baby.

I've always gone for a standard sword and board fighter my first time playing an RPG, it's a tradition at this point.

I'm guessing you want to be Human too? Other races have better racial bonuses for a Fighter. The main one that makes for the best fighter is the Wild Orlan. He tanks like a motherfucker.
But if you want to stick to being a Human, those stats are pretty good.

You should be able to max, or close to max, 2-3 skills, and leave the other remaining skills as a dump stat.

Build is going to do fuck all with these stats, stack might and little else, tanking doesn't work for shit with how the game handles threat mechanics (most enemies are hard coded to go after a certain armor type first, and will do a suicidal rush towards their target regardless of what you do)

You can just start it before the end. I think they even give you an auto save right before you jump into the pit of no return.
It won't be too easy, either. The game asks you if you want it to scale up for higher levels, and some of the challenges in that area are fucking bonkers if you want them to.

I dislike going below 10 in any stat in any RPG for any character, although in this game it just changes some % modifiers. Barbarians requiring intelligence for AoE increase is stupid

Resolve, Perception and Intellect are the stats that matter for a Tank. High Might is for shit like Rogues and Monks. Hell, I think high constitution is only good if you're like a Monk.
Your build is great and tanking is very useful in this game if you do proper tactics.

Yeah. Human Fighter/Warrior is always my first playthrough. I like exploring a fantasy world for the first time through the eyes of the normal and grounded.
After I'm familiar with the world however it's fun to revisit and explore the options of more exotic races and classes.

Best damage mitigation isn't creating a useless wall that depends on door bottlenecks but being competent with CC.
That and this approach towards tanking is outdated anyways. Perception now gives +Accuracy not +Deflection.

But it makes a difference that they weren't the ones that created you. Their morals and code is theirs because it's what they happened to think when they created the gods. It's not some wordly truth.
In faith, there is a pretty big difference between a powerful force that tells you to do something, and a powerful force that tells you to do something that also happened to create you and the world you reside in
It's an interesting philosophical quandary, I feel. And it makes sense that these gods would want to hide that aspect of them and just pretend they existed since the beginning of time

I thought of the gods in this game like the gods in the setting of Forgotten Realms since they're very much in the same vein anyway, where gods are pretty much their own personalities and have defining traits and spheres of power they watch over, and haven't necessarily existed since forever. Farmers pray to the god of harvest, paladins to the gods of order or justice and so on
