But really though, I assume it's just a physical manifestation of a character's utmost power, in some way shape or form. There's no way to fully recognize the capabilities of a character but the smash ball does give us a glimpse of one's full potential.

In the terms of the series, they're the ultimate power. That point when you were playing toys with other kids and one kid says "now I use the mega laser!!!" and everyone else decides to go along with it. It's not really "fair" and sometimes it's like a crazy over-powered move that fucks off everyone else's move-set. Superman's indestructibility/laser vision, any transformer's gun-mode, DBZ character's Kameh bomb. Usually put into action by most of the kids deciding that the game has gone on WAY longer than anyone cares about any more/ the bell rings.

No it really is, post mechonis core melia, Robutt, and Dunban all have him topped otherwise. Shulk is basically a master of chain attack locking and being buff bitch. Even with 100% crit he isn't the best

Because if you played Xenoblade you would know Riki and Dunban are a God tier pairing. Reyn is late game only has 1 really good art, Sword Drive, solely because it is the single strongest attack in a max chain attack. He is a pretty shitty tank
