That's an odd picture of Yosuke.
Naoto is great though, give her the Chakra ring and her shield ability is top tier. Plus she clears out trash in 5 seconds.

Yu with Yoshitsune, Chie for Dragon Dance + Power Charge God Hand, Kanji for Power Charge Primal Force and Naoto for Shield of Justice

Yukiko, Kanji, and Naoto ended up by final team that could handle any situation, with Chie seemingly always popping up to punt monsters into the sunset.
Teddie is just a lesser Yukiko (IMO, she's the essential partner in 4) with better buff skills which are covered by others just fine. He also has the worst final special move.
Yosuke is just subpar. Good speed i believe, but otherwise he just seems to get overtaken by everyone else. Still I wouldn't go as far to say he was flat out useless.

Yosuke has Dekaja, which can save your ass if the MC needs to do something other than debuff. He's a good all-rounder, kind of like Akihiko from P3.
My P4 vanilla playthrough, I ran with Yosuke, Kanji, and Amagidyne, and it worked just fine.

I cleared entirety of Heaven with just MC alone. If i were to use Naoto then she would be pretty much the part of the mop up crew which anyone else can do. she is a terrible addition to the team. she can't debuff or heal and her buffs are single target spells. pretty shit
Honestly, his damage is low, abilities are outshadowed by Batter and Alpha, no healing ability and ya get him late in the game anyways, could have gone through the game perfectly fine without it.
