The most hardcore shit I've ever seen.
My girlfriend actually has connections with Nintendo, so I was brought in to play test it. I'm not Prime newbie (I've played all three original games) but this game is up and away better than all of them. Co-op in particular is a lot of fun, and requires a lot of coordination. That shit you saw in the Treehouse stream was actually one of the first few levels: the game gets a lot more intense later on.
It's actually really cool to see the Metroid universe from a perspective of an ordinary soldier... Like, for example, you send in Samus to a Space Pirate Base ahead of you and you find dead bodies of giant creatures lying around the map. It's great.

Weapons are really fun to use. It's not unlike Tri Force Heroes, actually, where you'll need to have a certain weapon to beat a certain area, but having a different one really changes what you need to do entirely. For example, early on you need to find a monster that you've discovered lives in a cave behind a waterfall. The guys with ice beams need to make their way to key locations on the map to stop the water flow, which will let the speed booster guys get enough momentum to get past the abyss in the middle of it.
Sylux is part of the plot, but Higgs is not. I saw a generic black guy in the opening cinematic, but I'm not sure if that was supposed to be him.
The chibi style works perfectly well, especially for the monster designs. I actually grew to quite like them. It's really not that different from what happened with Wind Waker.

There's no real 'villain.' You just fight space pirates and stop whatever they're doing, or go up against indigenous creatures for whatever reason.
I beat it, yeah: The game's pretty much finished, they're just working on making sure the online experience is up to par right now. I played it through local co-op, and again in single player.
If they find out, probably. I don't think they're going to go out looking for someone who spoke positively about the game, though. They're still unsure on how to market the game to you faggots, haha.

I know NLG was very upset. Tanabe, I'm not sure. I heard a team member came on here that day to defend the game, though. Nintendo is very confident in the game doing well, they consider it's critics to be nothing more than a vocal minority.
I actually didn't test Blast Ball. I think the devs themselves are handling that, since no one else I talked to had tried it either.

You do not fight Ridley. Most of the bosses are entirely new creatures. Returning creatures from Prime games are treated as nothing more than major enemies. Kraid is in it, though... it plays rather similarly to the Nintendo Land fight, actually. You just don't control the ship.
