With red, I must design a game and while it'll be one amazing game, it is just one amazing game. Not only that but if you want to make expansion packs, you don't even get to profit off the game. To make things worse, since you were part of the team to make it in a sense, nothing will come as a surprise to you and you already know the general plot and mechanics.
With blue, my hobby becomes essentially free with bonus money on the side. After I make my powerful computer, I can sell a few specific products I don't need to make good money while playing any game I want. How is that not a sheer win?
