That and to the years of the last gasp of the PS2 and the early days of PS3 and 360.

7th gen was late 2000s right? I'd go with that one
>>
Whatever generation you were 12 years old in.

For the majority of /v/, that's the 6th gen.

For me it's the 4th gen, and it's also the objectively golden age of video games.
Thank god for not having been born too late.

When I was 12 I think I was playing the N64. But still I favor the 6th gen because it was so incredible seeing the way 3D technology improved along with improved voice acting and writing.

Easily 7th gen. 8th gen has been shitting the bed these past couple of years.

>all the underage saying 6th

I remember no joke thinking that was the worst console era of it's time, enough that killed my interest in video games aside from a few pc games here and there for almost the entire generation after it. so many series took a wrong turn in that era because "le tech" was finally cheap enough to change once great series from the genre they belonged into some other shit we didn't want.

It was bad but in retrospect it might be a silverage considering the dog shit we're in now.

5th > 4th > 6th > 3rd > 7th

2nd gen had good stuff buddy.

maybe if you find one button games with 4kb of memory enjoyable
>>
>>321162043

Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, just to name big 3 names, all pretty fun.
Avoid the Atari ports though, Coleco Vision had the REAL ARCADE EXPERIENCE AT HOME.

Yars Revenge, Fast Food, Adventure, Breakout,

6 > 4 > 7 > 3 > 5 > 2 > 1 > 8
This gen is objectively the worst. Pong had better gameplay than modern walking simulators like Her Story and Life is Strange.
>>
Gaming's golden age was 1995-2005

So 5th/6th gen.

Yeah Atari did have good games too, I like berzerk.
But the arcade ports were just better on the Coleco.

Golden age of home system gaming was 1985-1995, 3rd and 4th gen.

Although I'll give you 5th and 6th were the silver age.
