It really is forced, the people who spout this shit have probably never been to a local/minor tournament in their lives. Our tournament hosted both Smash 4 and SF4. We had a bunch of intermixing players who entered both--fuck, even Tokido himself gave Smash 4 a try.

This. Some of the best players in Smash I've seen are also top shelf at other games as well, and not just fighting games either.
I think the people that push that shit just can't get good at Smash. I'm pretty bad myself, but I don't blame the game. I just blame Sakurai for nerfing the shit out of my mains.
