Not going to argue there, but I will mention that the thing I liked the least in this "game" is how the credits just happen hen you've seen a certain amount of relevant information. I feel like the credits should have just been an option or a link on the desktop considering there's no real ending until the player solves the mystery for themselves. I actually sort of like that there's no in-game measurement of whether or not you've solved the case, but the credits were poorly implemented.

>>
>>321159767
Cheesy in a good way.
>>
>>321154982
It presented a mediocre story in a novel but frustrating way.

Mediocre because the "twist" is fairly easy to discover because of how easily one can stumble on the future videos where the girl talks about herself as if she were a different person which would lead one to search "split personality" or "twin," the latter of which is why this is so. They didn't even bother using a different actress for the twin, however, as well as the DAUGHTER of one of these twins. Three different characters played by one girl.

Frustrating because the game emphasizes on taking notes of facts and keywords but does not provide an in-game feature to help with that, like, I don't know, a simple goddamned notepad.

If any "game" could really said to have received attention simply because it was about a girl, it's this one.

>>People like weird shit
No, they like buying stupid shit because it makes them feel clever to ironically spend money on a retarded simulator with limited gameplay. Goat Simulator was fun joke of a game, but got old quick. Eurotruck Simulator and Farming Simulator were about trucks and fucking farming, and if you find that interesting you're either gearing up for a job as a trucker or farmer, or you spend money like a fool. Shit like Her Story and Depression Quest is for people who like to believe they can have control over what happens in movies.

Also, Dinner Simulator already happened: it was that flash game with the arguing married couple who would shove you out of the house if you asked them the wrong question or gave a shitty answer. That was more of a game than fucking Her Story, and it was literally just about trying to say the right things and not get kicked out of their apartment.
>>
Proof that Hillary Clinton will win this election. Women are ignorant cunts who will always vote for one of their own no matter how poorly qualified they are. "Her Story" is utter tripe but I bet that it was nominated by every single female voter.

>>321154982
Most people shit on it for being a "game", but it's actually pretty fun. There's nothing sjw or feminist about it, it's just a disconnected story that's acted out well by this actress.

The fun lies in trying to figure out what's important from each of her moments, which word will give you the most information. Which means that it's possible to beat the game quickly or after a long time. That's honestly refreshing to find.

I really enjoyed it, was worth the $5 I spent when it was on sale a while back. Spent a late night just piecing it together.
>>
>>321157150
I bought it and enjoyed it
>>
>>321154982
It sounds interesting, but nothing I want to rush out and play. I'll get to it eventually. Sam Barlow did a great job with Shattered Memories sp hopefully this will be written at least decent.
>>
>>321155094
>game needs gameplay to be good!
>except when it's one of /v/'s darling games where the story matters more
lel
>>
i think the open-endedness kind of hurt it. it's pretty fun to try and piece the story together, but once you feel like you have a pretty good idea of what happened there's not really any motivation to keep exploring the footage
>>
>>321161518
It has a main character who isn't a white male who is a proud brave racist. Also it focuses on story and not pew pew shoot da aliens.

Thus it's SJW trash and /v/ hates it
>>
>>321160251

>>
This game finally opened my eyes to how young and casual /v/ has become. The amount of people on this site who didn't know what a FMV game was blew my mind.
>>
The fact that a fucking FMV game won an award should tell you how shitty the video game press truly is these days.
>>
>>321163030

I thought it was an interesting interactive movie. It's worth about the 4 dollar it's selling for on steam. It's not really a game though, just warning you.

>>
In this revolutionary and taboo-breaking game, you play as a police officer (male unfortunately) and have to prove how this innocent young woman of color was raped, while nobody on the police force believes her.

It brought tears to my eyes, because it reflected my own story as well. In the end Her story became My story - Everyone's story
>>
>>321163741
>there are people this upset by women

>>
I don't have a problem with someone making a FMV game nowadays, the problem is the blatant fucking shilling in the VGAs. Like really, lady blandly moping in a fake interview somehow beat Mark Hamill's Joker? Fucking really?
>>
So did everyone think it was two girls or DID?
>>
>>321163886
/v/ always claims that any game that is popular elsewhere but no one /v/ must be "shilled"

It's retarded and always will be.
>>
It didn't have enough going for it really, the core gameplay was just too barebones, even by FMV game standards. You could've got much the same experience just going to the install directory and putting the videos on shuffle until the credits one comes up.
>>
>>321164278
>popular elsewhere
Look, usually the "shill" accusations are bullshit, but come on. The VGAs have always been horseshit, and you're not even vaguely suspicious this mediocre literally who game no one anywhere had heard of swoops in and beats games like BamHam and Witcher?
>>
>>321165128

Did not purchase it, thanks SKIDROW, but I played it release weekend. The best parts of the "game" are the mocked-up windows 3.1 interface, the acting performance of the main character and a few videos with lewd mentions of maniac-depression fueled hook ups with both sexes. The novel presentation does not save the story from some fairly obvious mystery-horror cliches.
