You can avoid random battles altogether and just spam limit breaks.

The games are a lot of mash X to win. KH 2 adds Mash triangle to help you win and the fighting flows a little better, that's about the only difference between them. The gameplay is pretty simple, but not bad. Other installments like Birth by Sleep are less mashy and very fun
