maintaining life support might be good enough for you, but not for me.
But Fallout 4 looks last gen anyway.
Why do you need to run it on ultra ?
It looks good on mostly high and mediums.
Runs at a solid 60fps with no drops on my 4 year old midlevel rig.
Only the gpu is new, and its cheap as fuck.
motherboard would cost roughly the same
processor would probably be cheaper by $50
ram would be about the same
graphics would be cheaper by about $200
hard drive would be about the same
Xbox One

>hard drive would be about the same
nigger you know literally jack shit

This. GPUs are really the only things that phase out between only a few years. Even then, a top tier one will last about 5 before becoming truly mid grade.
I could play fallass 4 on THIS, lad.
You don't need to spend anything. It's a very mediocre game to be honest family.
my machine was around 800 when i built it 3 years ago, i can play every single game i want on high with a stable 60+ frame with the fancy lighting shit and anti aliasing turned off. i play fallout 4 on high with 60+ but occasionally it dips HARD to like 25 but i assume thats just fallout being fallout

It's not the 2000s anymore, anon. Unless you're specifically talking about SSDs or >3TB HDDs, the dollar/byte of most HDDs has slowly leveled off since about 2005. That anon is right about the drive price being roughly the same 2 years from now. It would be about $30 cheaper at the absolute most.
