I liked it but I never played any of the other Devil May Cry games.

Casuals love it because they only mashed to win in other dmc games so they don't see a difference, all the see is "oh look, it also has combos, you can also change weapons, it's almost the same game therefore it's good"
The game was an aberration, boring and repetitive combat, huge damage and style points for doing nothing, braindead enemies, 0 difficulty on higher levels, enemies just did more damage and that's it, and the retarded red color/blue color damage system that all token awful games have, just like lords of shadow.

I didn't play it and avoided it up until last month
The combat is the only good part of the game, but even then it's a little too easy and there's color-coded enemies for no reason. Plus dodge-evade and the glaive thing + Arbiter being OP pls nerf
Other than that, I thought the story was shitty, yet hilariously ironic at the same time.
Donte is a complete 180 of Dante. Like I can't even believe how far the new one was from the old.
I mean original Dante was a guy who just had fun being a "cool-headed" action hero, while the new one is some dark, brooding "cool guy" tryhard who acts like a punk
I also hated that Kat bitch or whatever her name was

I literally cringed she said that went to Limbo to escape her nightmares.
The most accurate description of DmC I've heard is "the Godzilla 98 of video games", and I still think it accurate after playing it
