Steam Winter Sale just begun (what a fuckin surprise). I want to play a survival game, but I'm kinda lost around Ark, H1Z1, Long Dark, Rust [...]. What do you guys recomend ?

Ark is meant to be good, but it's really badly optimised.
Long Dark is meant to be very good though, but it's a lonely game.
All of the multiplayer/zombie-themed ones are absolute shitshows. The Long Dark is shaping up to be nice, but I doubt the animal AI will make for interesting enough emergent gameplay, even in the end. If you have to go for any of them, get TLD.

don't play a survival game
thank me later :)
Long Dark has no content the only good thing about it so far is the freezing mechanic but you can even get that in Skyrim with Frostfall installed
Holy fuck dat's pwetty, what game is for?
NEO Scavenger
Might not have fancy graphics, but it sure does survival better than pretty much every other survival game.

The Short Light.
Get Ark.
It has more players than all the other ones put together.
Devs are very active and patches are frequent.
Optimization is not great, but it is much better compared to when I started playing.
A big optimization patch literally just came out though and I'm still downloading it, plus DX12 support is coming eventually in the next few months

much love in the bum m8
Long Dark is super comfy and challenging. H1Z1 is good just for the intense Battle Royale (no survival elements) but it has shitty gunplay. Ark is good, but after a month of hardwork, my base and dinos got destroyed over night by some douche bag and I haven't played it since then. The PVE was boring back then, but maybe they updated it to have a point. Rust is like Ark without dinos I've heard. Stranded Deep is another good one too. Real comfy.
Get Rust if you like losing everything every time you log in.
And by get rust I mean dont get rust. its gameplay is flawed in that you have to play 24/7 to stay alive.
i enjoyed the long dark the most, very unique experience cuddling up to fires and shit, has some challenge

Such a good game for taking screenshots
Is Rust any good?
If you actually have a good PC, Ark is by far your best choice.

>Join server
>cut some trees
>harvest some stone
>build a little shack
>get killed by everyone else because they've got full bases and semi-automatic weapons.

too bad the same can't be said for gameplay
two fucking enemy types and they are hard to find because aside from landmarks most of the game world is empty forest with fuck all happening
No love for DayZ?
