>buy a friend Fallout 4 full price when it came out as an early Christmas present
>he waits until the sale and buys me fucking Monaco which I forgot I even had on my wishlist from years ago
It's not worth getting anyone gifts.
>having friends
Frustrating, but if you give gifts and expect equal or greater returns from the person you gave the gift to then you're doing it wrong. I spent about 250 dollars on gifts this season for my family and friends and will end up with probably 150 bucks worth of gifts if even that. But I don't get people gifts as a way to exchange monetary valued items we both want, I get them to make them happy. If giving people gifts doesn't make you happy or them happy you should just not do it.

It shows value. You value the person, you get them something big. If they get you a pair of socks in return it shows how little they give a fuck, especially if they recieved your gift first.
I hate getting gifts because then I feel like I have to give them something in return
>>321087156
Just stop buying people gifts then, you insufferable faggot.
>>321087010
Ya /thread.
>>321087156
lets be honest, you're just a greedy jew that figured you'd gift someone something and they would then be compelled to get you something more expensive.
>>321087631
The goyim know!
If your friend can't even afford fallout 4, what makes you think he can give you an expensive gift?
>>321085998
When was the last time youupgraded your friends?
>>321087156
If you're expecting things of equal value you're just being an ungrateful faggot. Never gift anyone anything expecting something in return anyway. You're just gonna set yourself up disappointment. I buy my friends things on Steam all the time for birthday's and holidays. Rarely do I get anything back in return. Sure i'd like to get something in return, but that's not why I do it. I do it because I like doing it, and it always brings a smile to my face when they get it and are surprised.
>>321087631
i gift people shit so they keep being friends with me;_;
>>321087906
you sound like a cuck desu
>>321087826
Fucking this. Some good friends of mine gift me big shit cuz they can and know i couldn't buy me that shit myself so they don't expect anything like it back
>>321087010
This. I like you.
>>321085998
>people give me gifts
>I never give them gifts in return
I don't really understand why some people are so generous with their money and give without asking for anything in return. All it gives me is a constant sense of guilt for having taken so freely from them.
>>321088264
I know what you mean
>someone I had on my friend list and never talked to years ago randomly gifted me something from my wishlist
>I only had it on there so I could meet the 10 games requirement for competitions
>end up never playing it
>end up never getting him anything either
>never even talked to him again after that
>>321087972
I'd have to be in a relationship to be a cuck.;-;
>>321085998
>gift
>something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation
You aren't giving a gift if you expect something in return.
>>321088620
I feel especially guilty because one time I yelled at a guy for getting me Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, solely because I already had vanilla Sins and had never asked for Rebellion, and I didn't want to have to pay him back for a gift I'd never asked for of a game I already more or less had.
I ended up liking Rebellion in the end, but I never properly apologized to him before internet drama drove us apart.

/thread
Either that or you're just a greedy shit
>>321088841
He specified it was an early Christmas present. Christmas has gifts being given and received, you know.
>steam friend gifts me a game for no reason
>not on my wushlist, never even heard of it before
>look it up, not my kind of game at all, absolutely NO desire to play it
>only known this guy like two weeks, feels kind of weird for him to be gifting me shit already, like he's desperate for a friend and is trying to buy me
>feign gratitude, don't want to seem like an asshole
>game sits in my library unplayed forever
>>321085998
But its the thought that counts, anon-kun.
>>321090237
i just wanted to be your friend
>make a friend on steam
>he's constantly asking me to send him money through paypal and buy him games and offering nothing in return
>he's going through a bad time, so don't really have the heart to just unfriend him
>>321085998
>giving someone fallout 4 as a gift
>>321085998
>gifting because you want something in return
Why not just buy shit for yourself?
Gift giving for holidays is retarded.
>>321088264
>>321088620
>>321089134
you are terrible and mentally very immature people
>>321091061
The yelling thing was immature, I agree. I feel guilty about it now.
But man, why do people just give each other things? I'm not even talking cheap games - I'm talking upwards of twenty or thirty dollar gifts.
>>321091230
for some people money is less important that social interactions
>>321085998
>gifting FO4
he should have gifted you Bad Rats in return
>>321091643
They were chatting to me regularly enough. It wasn't some excuse for social interaction.
