So after hearing countless times that this game is the second coming of Christ - I decided to give it a shot.
I knew absolutely nothing about it at the time (save for it being an anime based game), and the general consensus was that I should go into it blind.
So I did.
I'm not sure if I just 'dont get it'. But do grown ass men seriously enjoy playing a what is basically a juvenile highschool simulator with supernatural elements?
I'm having a hard time not comparing this to teen romance fiction like Twilight and The Hunger Games.
Everything from the characters, dialogue and story is incredibly cheesy and hamfisted. All the characters are whiny little shits who blow everything out of proportion and make terrible decisions constantly.

I played P4 on PC about 4 or 5 years ago and I didn't find it excessively good in any aspect. In fact, I liked P3FES better.
Last month I decided to give it a shot after playing P4DAN and I have to say that P4Golden is one of the best games I've ever played. I don't know why I couldn't appreciate the original release back then or if the vita release is that much improved but holy shit the game is a masterpiece.

Its 5% actual gameplay and 95% clicking through text in high school and going through shitty scripted animu filler tier beach events.
Even the story itself takes a backseat to the high school crap and you go through weeks with absolutely nothing happening.
Worst part is that the gameplay parts suck too. The dungeons are randomized GARBAGE and you only get to customize your protagonist.
Bosses are all braindead easy and just end up being time wasting health sponges.
I would never recommend it to people.

Although in my opinion Persona 3 was much better as a game, Persona 4 has better characters, you can really live a highschool anime life style

But since you use all your party members in battle and with the summoning system it gets kinda tedious

The game IS piss easy.
Enemies are all recycled shit and you just spend your first five minutes in a dungeon figuring out what weakness they have, and then you just spam that.
Bosses are all basic as fuck. Only mechanic that ever matters is the boss doing a charge attack which forces your party to block for one turn.
Difficulty settings do nothing but increase the enemy HP and damage. Same tactics will always apply.
Your other characters are still completely railroaded into their roles.
Teddie will always be an ice attacking healer.
Kanji will always be a lightning physical attacker.
If you call that choice then I dont even know.
Yu is the only one with actual customization.
