Getting into VS/Darkstalkers. Is Felicia a good character for a beginner? What about Demitri?

Felicia's a better beginner character than Demitri. You can get pretty far with Felicia just by jumping, dashing, and using normal attacks and throws. Demitri takes some more finesse, because he has a typical shoto moveset in a game where the typical shoto strategies don't really work.

That's part of it, but there's also things like Shoryukens not being as reliable due to air blocking, more mobility making it harder to fall into the typical fireball/uppercut trap, etc.

Yeah, but I wouldn't be surprised if they took a look at the series again after SF5 comes out. They've got this partnership with sony that's apparently going beyond SF5 and back when the whole Darkstalkers is not Dead thing happened, We still had SF4, Marvel 3, and SFxT was coming out.
Now we only have SF5 since Marvel yanked the license and SFxT died fast. So either we get a vs fighter or they go back to one of their old fighting IPs
Do you guys play on Fightcade? It's so goddamn hard to find matches there because people are locked into eight hour sets.

Don't have fightcade downloaded yet, I've just been messing around on CPS2 emulators. Don't think I'm good enough to actually fight anyone yet.
I was just thinking about getting back into it, I haven't played seriously in years and I'm rusty as shit, pretty much scrub-tier now.
I played the SFV beta and it all it did was remind me of that capcom made a mistake not continuing it. Gonna have to pick up fightcade and learn all the fundamentals again, game was too good to pass up.

It doesn't, really. It just has a thing somewhat similar to Dark Force. And guard cancels, but SF already adopted those from Darkstalkers back in SF Alpha.
If we do get a new DS game, would you rather have it be 1-3 in one game story wise to tie everything together easier with the original cast of the first 3 games, or a continuation of the story with some new monsters?
